Dark Pattern in app to reload

I went to reload my Starbucks app this morning and couldn't find the option to do 1-off reload. After playing around for a bit I figured out it's the "Pay in Cafe" button.

Talk about a dark pattern! The only visible option that says "reload" is the auto-reload "Turn On" button. If you want to do a 1-off reload, it's the completely non-intuitive "Pay in Cafe" button. That is a seriously shady attempt to trick people into turning on auto-reload.

Are you going from this promt? If so I’d honestly try resetting the app first. Fully closing it out. If not that resetting your phone. After that I’d contact customer support

I don't even know what that screen is. I'm opening the Starbucks app, tapping the person icon at the top right, then tapping Starbucks Cards & payment, then tapping the card displayed under "Manage Starbucks Cards", which gets to the screen I included above. I'm on IOS if it matters.

this is the “Scan” page. it’s the second option in the menu at the bottom of the app. specifically the “Scan & Pay” tab where you can see your starbucks card, gift cards, credit/debit cards that you’ve loaded in
