My snail hides and refuses to eat

Post image

Hello everyone! Can you please help me? My achatina snail hides inside shell and doesn’t come out. It has a wet fine terrarium with soil. She hasnt been eating for the last 4 days. I don’t know much about snails and am really worried about it. Maybe it’s because it is September and the weather has become colder?

There should be a heat mat but not under because they bury themselves to cool down sometimes a heat mat should be on the side!! Also what sub-species is this because there's multiple achatina variants. This snail looks retracted, I keep snails but am not too familiar with how to solve this so I would advise looking up ways to help deep retraction in giant African land snails. Also, make sure to feed highly nutritious foods like sweet potato and corguette, as opposed to cucumber and lettuce. There should be a source of calcium available at all times, most commonly used is cuttlefish bone although eggshell can work temporarily. Good luck with your snail let me know if you have any more questions!

I'm not an expert on GALS, but I know they need warmth, they should have a heating pad under the enclosure to keep them at a tropical temperature, she could be hiding due to temp. Hopefully someone with more experience on this breed can chip in
