You mention the cat being an observer. If the cat is allowed to be an observer, then this whole thought experiment gets jumbled up a little bit.

Because it would go as follows. If the cat is alive, the cat knows it's alive, therefore it's known, and the cat's simply alive.

If the cat is dead, the cat doesn't know it's dead, therefore nobody knows whether the cat is dead or alive. So the cat is both dead and alive.

So from this development, we have two possibilities: either the cat is alive, and Mr. Schrödinger should let it go and play outside, or the cat is dead.

If the cat is dead, then it is both dead and alive. And if it's dead and alive, then it's dead and alive and alive. And if it's dead and alive and alive, it's dead and alive and alive and alive.
