Why isn't it sweet whatsoever? Can't believe I spent 5 dollars on this garbage

I just dropped $30 on fast food for one person and I tipped 20% like a moron… only to go in there and find the place fucking filthy, the employees legit look like they’ve been taken hostage and are awaiting the chance to run. Food was cold, milkshake was the wrong flavor and sandwich had slimy lettuce that I fully expect to vomit later.

It takes true dedication to be such a shitty employee that you ruin something as awesome as shake shack. Jesus.

Keeping it simple and just order the patties. If they just don't over grill it it's pretty good. Hit or miss sometimes they burn it all the way, which sucks. Each patty is $2.50.

For starters, I know restaurants often only put an initial hold on the account, and if they don't fully process the transaction before the hold falls off, it might temporarily appear that they never charged me, until later it suddenly comes out of my account again. If that's the case here, that's fine... but I already spoke to my bank who confirmed that's NOT what happened; this was an actual credit back, not the initial hold dropping off.

I went to Shake Shack (in person) on 8/29 and placed a take-out order for mac&cheese on the kiosk. Then while I was waiting for my food, I decided I also wanted a can of Rosé, so I placed that order separately at the counter. I was given both my mac&cheese and my wine, and I left. FWIW I also went at an odd time, and I was literally the only customer in there.

A few days later, I noticed the two pending Shake Shack charges on my account for $11.42 and $15.43 were followed by a separate credit/reversal transaction of the $11.42 charge. I waited until the charges posted to see if it would correct, but they posted the same way. I then called my bank (Chase), who confirmed the restaurant posted an $11.42 credit back to my account.

Per their online menu, a can of Rosé is $13, plus I added a 10% tip to that order — so presumably the wine was the $15.43 order that stuck, and the mac&cheese is what was refunded. It doesn't look like the mac&cheese should've been $11.42 either as it's only $5.99 on the menu, but I'm honestly less concerned about the possibility of a slight overcharge than I am confused about the returned money. The only thing I can think is, maybe I didn't notice someone left another item in the cart on the kiosk, I added my mac&cheese to it and paid for both, or maybe I accidentally added 2 mac&cheese... and the cashier noticed since I was the only one there and just refunded that entire order? But again I'm not even 100% sure I was overcharged in the first place, and the cashier seemed to know I only wanted one mac&cheese and didn't ask about or try to give me another item.

I'm not really sure what I'm asking here. I guess just, any idea why that would happen? Should I let it go, or wait a bit longer to see if the charges correct, or should I call the restaurant to ask and potentially correct it? I just don't know why I was refunded for food I received. (I never made a complaint or anything they'd be refunding me to settle either, to be clear.)

Does anyone happen to know when they're getting rid of it? All I could find was "for a limited time" online but not an actual date. I keep seeing stuff talking about the Halloween season so I'd assume for a while but just wanted to check. Thanks in advance!

I had my first Shake Shack experience today. It was good, but not 30 dollars good. My burger patties tasted like they did not have salt which would have gone a long way, otherwise a great burger but that is kinda crucial. Second, wtf is up with that whack ass regular sized straw for a milkshake with chocolate chunks etc in it??? I hate having to use a spoon for my goddamn milkshake. If the word Shake is in the name you would think that they would have proper fucking milkshake straws. Who came up with this?

Got excited when I heard about the new Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake, until I saw that it basically has a whole days worth of calories! That’s crazy! I get that it’s a shake, but it’s way more than the regular shake.
Please tell me this is bad…I don’t want it to be good

I am at shake shack in NYC Penn station. There is no veggie shack. First the vegan milk shakes leave and now this??? Please tell me this is not every location.

Our usual location became too unpredictable - forgotten toppings, burnt patties, never knew if our to-go orders would be packaged properly in boxes - you name it. So we tried a different, newer location, (though this wasn’t a recently opened location).

Same. Bullshit. They forgot the bacon on my bacon cheeseburger. They also forgot all of the Ranch dips that came with the spicy fries. And as for the spicy fries, the seasoning was sweet for some fucking reason??! It was not even remotely sweet last year. The breading on the chicken nuggets was way too thick as well, and honestly seemed like frozen Tyson chicken nuggets.

We will not be back anytime soon, hugely disappointing for over $50 worth of food.

The app was offering a code “OPENN” where you could order whatever you wanted and the promo code would lead to the final cost being $0. Did anyone else see this outside of Toronto?

FYI: I know some people in corporate that ordered hundreds of dollars of free food because of the promo code, I spoke to a worker and they said they’ve gotten a huge influx of orders because of this issue which lasted hours

If you like the strawberry lemonade and thought this would be similar, ITS NOT. It’s so bad and bitter. I might be in the minority and I might get hate for this but I wouldn’t recommend it.

Interviewed on august 2nd with the hiring manager, the hiring manager took 2 weeks to actually get around to scheduling the 2nd interview. During the 2nd interview the manager I met literally said and I quote “I recommended you, hope you get the job”. The second interview was last Thursday. Should I lose all hope at actually landing this job?

Goodafter noon I hope this post reaches the right people , I was recently hired on the spot at my second interview at shake shack yesterday (friday), they told me next week is my orientation and to come in that day and that they'd send me an email either yesterday or today with all of the onboarding information so I know, but its currently 3:30pm and I still haven't received a "you're hired" email or on boarding email. How long did it take for you guys ? What should I do

They charge the item price + service fee + courier fee + tax. And the courier fee is actually higher than what I’d normally pay as a delivery fee elsewhere.
So… what exactly is the difference between a delivery fee and a courier fee? Is “courier fee” just delivery fee wearing a fake mustache? 🥸😂

Planning to go tomorrow, spend $10+ & get a Free Chicken Shack. Was thinking of getting a Avocado Bacon Single Burger. Good choice or no?

And I never had a chicken sandwich with avocado before until now. Who knew that could taste so good?
