. . . You know that's just marketing right?
The physicist who wrote the book had the original working title of "The god damned particle" because it was about his struggles to find it. His publisher called him up, "Hey, you'll sell more books without the swear word in the title, can we get rid of it?" "Yeah, sure". And that's it. The book's title became "The god particle". Publisher was right, it DID sell better.

It's just a name dude. And it's called the higgs particle now. It's the field that gives everything mass. Because we are all just in a set of fields of waves. Everything is just waves in certain fields. This was just a new one. And it took a long time to discover it after being theorietically possible for years

Pretty sure the discovery didn't matter as much as proving the Higgs field does actually exist. It pretty much just confirmed the assumptions made for the last 50+ years were correct.

They thought that the Higgs Boson could act as an Inflaton under the right circumstances, but the real God particle is the Inflaton, not the Higgs Boson.

The Higgs boson was named the god particle as shorthand for the “god damn particle” because it was so hard to find. Not kidding lol

Functionally though the Inflaton would be an an actual universe creating God particle, its so much more deserving of the title.
I know this is pretty out there but if you apply Sheldrake'a Morphic resonance theory to the Inflaton field, you have a sentient conscious field that creates universes.
