I texted RMIT urgent mental support and they replied really quickly, I told them about my suicidal ideation and begged to talk to someone, someone named Noel from the RMIT counselling team called me within an hour and talked me out of it. She was really great at what she does and really helped me calm down while I waited for an ambulance and my friend to arrive. The police came and gave me a referral to a psych. This is a Noel appreciation post and I really hope she sees and knows how much she has helped me.

Also if anyone is also struggling please reach out to them. I have no support system here at all and within 2 hours of texting them I received so much resources and love.

Doing a diploma of IT and I might fail my networking class. It’s only an elective but they auto picked all my subjects for me at the start so I don’t know if it’s important. What would likely happen if I do fail?

hi guys this my first post eek but im a first year student doing an associate degree in biomed rn, i was thinking of transferring to bachelor of medical radiations as it was my original plan after hs, but i didn't make the cut as the atar req went up to like freaking 98 and it's not a niche course anymore... im just wondering if it's even worth it to transfer. if i do, i'd have to apply through vtac (and spend $80 on preference list again...) and sit the STAT (which is like $100-$200...) as completion of the degree im doing rn isn't enough to get into the bachelors so.. yeah idk if it's worth it anymore.. i don't rlly have any backups either. i'm lowkey not that confident in doing well for the STAT either, like i can't study for it and like the course is so competitive i'm not even sure if i'd be considered 💔 the only pathway to get guaranteed entry to the course is a diploma of radiation science, however i need like 6 months work experience in a medical field or something... dawg how am i meant to do that 😪 i miss when biomed was an actual pathway to this course bro fml what do i do

My GPA suffered a lot last semester bc of work and although I’ve passed, it’s now sitting at 1.9. RMIT told me to still put my application through although the minimum GPA requirement is 2.0.

Is it even worth it? Or should I wait for my GPA to be boosted this semester and try again next year?

Alternatively, could I just submit my transcript from last year?

The handbook is helpful, but I'd really love to hear from students who have actually taken those courses, especially about their real difficulty, workload and assessment measures.

If you've taken any of these, I'd really appreciate any info on:
1. How difficult was the course overall?

1. What were the assessments actually like? For example, coding assignments, individual/group projects, reports, presentations, quizzes or exams.

2. Some course guides use broad terms such as “Written Work” or “Design/Development/Prototyping”. What did these actually involve in the course?

3. Was there a final exam or any hurdle assessment that we had to pass separately?

4. Roughly how many hours per week needed to spend on the course?

5. Is there any approximate class average?

I’m currently picking my preferences for unis and I’m not sure what uni I should go to.
I live in werribee so I don’t think Monash is an option as that’s a far travel
I’m thinking of Melbourne uni and RMIT and just wanted to hear the opinion of both unis before considering which one should be my first preference.

I am an engineering student, submitted an assignment 2 weeks ago it still has not been graded+ there is some originality report that they have given which gives me 35% of my text was matched with other sources in data base on turnitn. I just wanted to ask if this is normal and will my assignment will ever be graded. For context this is a civil engineering assignment

finished at rmit and my entire system was checking canvas when i remembered and panicking accordingly. curious whether that's everyone or just me.

three things i'm trying to understand:

- the last assessment you found out about later than you wanted to. how did you find out in the end

- when three things land in the same week, how do you pick what to do first

- did you set up any kind of system in week one, and was it still alive by week eight

not asking whether an app would fix this. more interested in what actually happens, including the boring answer where you cope fine.

Is it just my phone or is the "RMIT-University" wifi pretty inconsistent recently? I'm mostly in building 100. Contents take longer to load, audio drops off randomly.

Hello, do the weekends count among the “within 5 working days” when applying for special consideration—like how they would deduct points on assignments counting the weekend days? And also does a national holiday that happened on a Monday as well? As an example.

Is there a separate job board where only WIL placements are advertised or is it just the job center one where all jobs are listed? Thanks

Hi guys, I'm a second-year student in the Strategy and Innovations major. I noticed RMIT doesn't have 1800 Degrees Consulting yet (I think they did a few years ago, but it was discontinued). I'm interested in starting a branch, but I don't know many people who are interested in starting one. Hey guys, I'm a year 2 pharmacy student

I'm studying for a midsemester exam and have been rewatching lecture content and reading the prescribed textbook and I noticed that the lecture content is just segments of the textbook read out word for word.

It's making studying difficult because I can't read the textbook to help with content I'm not understanding because it's explained exactly the same way. The course material is already hard to understand and I am struggling.

I'm unsure if this is something RMIT would even take seriously if I put in a complaint. I'm just surprised that with their stance on plagiarism, they allow their teaching staff to blatantly read from the textbook.

Hi im an aspiring student trying to get into pharmacy at rmit next year however im just not 100% what it really means. I see that the atar that was lowest offered was roughly 41ish and js wanted to know if its almost guaranteed to get in with an atar of 60-70? or if im misunderstanding the whole thing

had many assignments having been 3+ weeks and have still not been graded is this normal.
