A brief word on formatting the scripts in your posts

Upvotes

I just removed a post that began with, "I know this isn't written in proper screenplay format, but . . ." If you want people to take your work seriously, show a serious devotion to the craft, and learn proper format.

Hi!

Title: Lovers Will Meet

It’s structured as an 8-issue graphic novel totaling 400 pages, with each issue comprising 50 pages. Each incarnation is a complete story, showcasing the pattern of recognition, refuge, collapse, and death builds across seven lifetimes).

In each lifetime, the soul-pair follow the same trajectory: Recognition (the orange cord flares; they know each other immediately) → Refuge (they spend time together, believing love grants them immunity from the systems they were born into) → Collapse (the world finds them; their private sanctuary proves illusory) → Death (they die together within twenty-four hours as casualties of their own naïveté). The 5th incarnation (seen through Tayo’s eyes & told (eventually) by Sarah (the bride at the start of issue 1).

Snippets:

PAGE 5&6 (PRELUDE: DOUBLE SPLASH)

Orange string blazing between them; cosmic light all around.
CAPTION (bottom, English): What the heart remembers, death cannot erase.
CAPTION (Yoruba): Ohun tí ọkàn rántí, ikú kò lè pa á rẹ́.
CAPTION (Urdu): جو دل یاد رکھتا ہے، موت اسے مٹا نہیں سکتی۔

PAGE 17
PANEL 1 (Introduce ỌYAN):
ỌYAN, Goddess of winds and change. She is tall, with skin like polished honey. Her hair moves like wind. She’s got a radiant smile. She's gesturing (in th middle of making a point).

CAPTION: ỌYAN, who commands the winds and knows that change is the only constant.

ỌYAN: and I'm telling you, love destroys as often as it creates!

PANEL 2 (Introduce ỌSHUN):
ỌSHUN, Goddess of rivers, love, and sweet water. Devastatingly beautiful, with skin like mahogany. Adorned in gold and amber, with bangles that chime like water. She reclines gracefully, amused by ỌYAN's passion.

CAPTION: Ọshun, who knows the secrets of every heart and how they break.

ỌSHUN: And I'm telling you, sister, that destruction is often just transformation wearing a different mask.

PANEL 3 (Introduce ORUNMILA):
ORUNMILA, God of wisdom, prophecy, and destiny. He looks like he’s in his late 60’s, with a crystal white beard, stark contrast against his chestnut skin. Kind eyes that see too much, with a Cain. He strokes his white beard thoughtfully, listening to both sides.

CAPTION: Orunmila, who sees all paths; those taken and abandoned.

ORUNMILA: You're both right, and wrong. Perhaps, the question is not whether love survives death, but whether death can truly separate what fate has bound together.

PANEL 4 (Introduce ÈṚÚ):
ÈṚÚ, the Trickster, messenger between worlds, and guardian of crossroads. Young and fit, with dreadlocks, almond eyes and a charming smile that promises trouble.

CAPTION: And ÈṚÚ, who guards the crossroads and knows the consequences of every choice.

ÈṚÚ: Oh, this is going to be good.

Scene How’s my dialogue?

Upvotes

I’m writing a coming of age story, where the character Kevin is confused and lost with growing up. He wants to escape, but he doesn’t know who he is. Dan and Luke are supposed to be sort of unlikable, so their dialogue is a little rude.

I’m currently 18 and I’ve never written a script before so if it sucks just tell me, this is just one scene of a really unfinished project at the moment. I just got into screenwriting, music and lyrics is really all my basis.

[SHORT] The Unbroken (Drama/Inspirational) - 5 pages

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I would love to share my completed short script titled "The Unbroken." It is a grounded, emotional family drama focused on female resilience and unconditional love.

Logline: When a devastating accident paralyzes her husband, a determined young mother must refuse the toxic financial help of her manipulative mother-in-law to save her family. Over two decades, she battles severe chronic illnesses, mounting debt, and corporate prejudice, transforming herself into a high-level banking executive to protect the love of her life.

I am open to any constructive feedback from fellow writers and would love to connect with indie directors or producers looking for emotional, character-driven scripts that are realistic and cost-effective to produce.

METHOD — A low-budget psychological horror/drama concept I've been developing. Would love feedback.

Genre: Psychological Drama / Horror

Setting: Los Angeles — almost entirely one apartment, designed to be shot on a very low budget.

Logline

A struggling actor — rejected at every audition for not being "convincing enough" — freezes and lets his best friend die during a heart attack. Instead of coming clean, he uses his one real talent, mimicry, to impersonate his dead friend indefinitely. It becomes the most convincing performance of his life... and he can't stop giving it.

The Concept

Jake has spent years failing at acting. Every casting director tells him the same thing: he's trying too hard, he's not believable. The only person who keeps telling him to hang on is his roommate and best friend, Ryan — his one real connection in the world.

One night, Jake comes home to find Ryan mid-heart attack, triggered by a drug overdose. He reaches for his phone to call for help — but the TV, left on nearby, glitches and starts playing an old home video of Ryan saying, "Don't worry, your chance is coming." Jake stops. Looks at his dying friend. And makes a conscious choice not to help — thinking, in that moment, that this might actually be his opportunity.

Instead of calling it in, Jake decides to keep Ryan "alive" — using his gift for mimicry to take his friend's voice, mannerisms, and even his work-from-home job. But this isn't just about buying time. Jake starts deliberately recording his impersonation as a demo reel — proof of the transformation he's never been able to pull off in an audition room — planning to send it to a director he's chased for years.

What follows is a slow, unsettling descent: video calls as Ryan, texts as Ryan, visitors fooled by Ryan — all captured and edited into polished footage, with anything incriminating cut away. For the first time in his life, Jake is genuinely good at this. He just built his masterpiece out of a man's death.

The Twist Structure

For the first half of the film, the audience is deliberately misled — you believe Jake is the one who died, and it's Ryan, grieving and "a little off," refusing to accept his friend's death. The truth (that it's the reverse — Jake is alive and has been performing as Ryan the whole time) isn't confirmed to the audience until well into the story.

The Turn — When It Becomes a Different Movie

The illusion collapses early when a neighbor discovers the body and calls 911. From here, the film shifts tone entirely — from quiet psychological horror into an interrogation-room, procedural thriller. Jake can no longer maintain the "Ryan is alive" act. So he pivots to a new performance: convincing everyone — police, a court-appointed psychiatrist, even Ryan's own parents — that grief has broken his mind.

He never claims he's unstable. He simply acts it, so convincingly that trained professionals reach the conclusion themselves. The detective on the case finds the seized recordings — including the polished reel and the email to the director — proving Jake wasn't spiraling, he was building a portfolio. It's damning, but it doesn't fit cleanly with the disoriented man in custody either. The medical examiner's report confirms natural/accidental causes, and the psychiatric evaluation ultimately supports commitment over prosecution. He's sent to a psychiatric hospital instead of prison.

The Ending

Six months later, Jake is released, calm and "recovered." He returns to the apartment he actually owns (inherited from his late parents — Ryan had simply moved in as his roommate). He sits down at his laptop and opens his old editing software. He finds unedited footage from the night everything started — himself and Ryan, partying, recording each other, the exact moment Ryan first took the drugs that would kill him.

His phone buzzes — an email notification from the director he sent his reel to, all those months ago. He doesn't open it. He sets the phone face-down and begins calmly editing the old footage instead. The film ends there — no confession, no clear justice, no answer on whether the "break" he wanted ever came. Just a man quietly returning to the one performance he's ever been good at.

My Version Of Michael Biopic!!

Upvotes

Hello everyone!

It was my dream to create a MJ Biopic amd I've written a story outline for the biopic which is aimed to be 3.5 hours long.

The story covers the complete life story of The King Of Pop from his childhood to his final days.

Title: MJ

Genre: Musical-Biography

Expected Runtime: 205 Mins

Page Count: 38 Pages

Half I: The Rise of Michael

From a young boy in Gary, Indiana, to the biggest entertainer in the world. The first half follows Michael’s extraordinary rise through the Jackson 5, his solo career, Off the Wall, Thriller, Bad, and Dangerous — while exploring the childhood he sacrificed, the pressure of fame, his pursuit of perfection, and the lonely person behind the legendary performer.

Half II: The Man Behind the King

As Michael reaches the height of his fame, the world begins to see him differently. The second half explores the 1993 allegations, his relationships, fatherhood, HIStory, Invincible, the media scrutiny and 2005 trial, and the final years of his life. Beneath the controversies and headlines is a man searching for love, peace, family, and the childhood he never had.

At its heart, MJ is not just a story about the King of Pop. It is about the person who had to become him. 👑

Does this concept sound interesting to you?

If you’d like to read the full story, let me know in the comments!💓

Feature Anthro Alien Antics Pilot: Track Day — Part 1 (Expositional, comedy, parody, 14 pages)

Upvotes

Notes:

-You can ignore the message prompt. I am not intending to self-promote; it was just pasted from a post draft for another subreddit.

-This is not necessarily a script for anything animated. It is a comic dub script for a yet-to-be-illustrated story.

-Numbers are used as placeholders for the characters’ names. Characters are not mine. This is the pilot story of a fan series I made using characters from an existing franchise.

The Last Day of a Free Man - Dark Sci-Fi - 10 pages

Upvotes

I spent 10 years writing this screenplay, and here’s what came out of it.

It started as a simple idea back in 2016 and slowly grew into a massive world with its own history, mythology, technology, and rules.

Everyone knows Death—the figure in a black cloak holding a scythe, coming to take your soul. But what if collecting souls had turned into a massive interdimensional industry?

On the planet Duot, souls are bought, sold, and used as fuel. And the base market value of a human soul is simple: 1 SOUL = $1.

This is Episode 1 of the series.

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read or watch! I’d really appreciate your honest feedback on the story and world-building.

Buddy-cop comedy "We're Cops!", 108 pages

Upvotes

Hi all,

so cool that this sub exist, didn't know that until recently. I wrote my first full feature script a while ago and if anyone would like to read it and share their thoughts, I would be more than grateful. Interesting to hear what you think of it. Is it even funny? I know buddy-cop isn't a very fresh concept but I can enjoy those types of comedies. In this script, the theme is a little darker than usual maybe, the humour also.

It went to quarter finals in BlueCat. They critizised the action-lines being a little long and bulky sometimes, as well as the humour sometimes relying on stereotypes and rude comments. Which I guess is true, one of the characters is kind of an asshole.

Hello! I wanna share my idea

Upvotes

Hello everyone, I am pretty much new in this world of writting stories n' stuff, and someone young who desires to be a filmaker someday, I wanna share this idea I got!

So this story Is based of "No country for old man" and principally from "Blood Meridian"

I have this idea to make a Graphic adventure game like the one telltale games used to make

(I am going to make It on scratch with maybe some other people since I do not know how to program and cant pay anyone right now)

But the story would be about a young boy named Billy escaping His abusive home, and later on joining a gang owned by a guy named Glenn In their adventure to go far away in search of a new start.

Daha 17- My Script

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I'm writing a possible script for certain scenes in the next episode just for fun (and to improve my imagination and writing). But it is in Turkish. You could possibly translate it as well, but here it goes: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VbvaKIP-5E8WViSqasxSBYkmjmzPSzn6XNZL_brHrN8/edit?usp=drivesdk

I'll add more in my free time too. I like to speculate about the plot and see if it matches in only certain important aspects. If any fan wants to read and comment on it, feel free :)

Hi, I made a script for a short film and would love to get any opinions about it. I'm more interested to hear any feeback regarding the plot itself rather than any foundational advice on how the script is supposed to look, but that would still be great to hear. Thanks so much! Heres the script -> Close Your Eyes
