Screenshot / video Pulse scheduling in practice

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

A complete 64-day cycle at a station in my network. For reference this is called Baar station and can be found as the northern terminus of the IC3 service in this network diagram that I posted some time ago. (I will post an updated version of the diagram soon).

The entire network is cyclic and repeats every 64 days in-game, Baaring a few exceptional services (hehe). I like to think of this as representing a 30-minute period. At this station in particular, all services (except for the intercity) are timed to connect and will not depart until all other services have arrived.

A list of the NewGRFs can be found in the comments of this post.

Also, apologies for the (I think) low video quality - I am only just getting familiar with the recording software.

You're doing all of that and not using JGR patchpack? (Judging by the fact that you're measuring the timetable in days instead of an actual timetabling clock)

You should really consider it, JGRPP has many features related to timetables and scheduling which makes that whole aspect of the game much more detailed and realistic.

I know, but right now the base game has everything I need, and I quite enjoy the challenge of scheduling with only the basic tools. (And also not having to download extra stuff).

Honestly it's amazing that you managed all that with vanilla timetabling. I usually recommend players to switch to JGRPP if they want to touch timetabling at all, it's just that much better.

Yeah I totally believe you that it's considerably easier with JGRPP, I'm just a very stubborn person when it comes to this kind of thing.

Download here: https://github.com/JGRennison/OpenTTD-patches/releases

Then just extract and run it as its own separate program. No need to copy anything into your existing game.

As someone else said, for integrated pulse timetables I also recommend JGRPP.

I too stayed on vanilla for a lot of time, until it became impossible to rework the timetable. Now with the patch is really easier, since everything is in hours and minutes.

Btw my cycle was 60 days, not 64.
