Happy Labour Day Everyone!
Below is an incomplete list of labour reforms brought in by Canada's Left. Each one on the list Canadian Conservatives/the Right shamefully fought tooth and nail against.
Banning children from mines
Mandatory breaks
A minimum wage
Minimum wage increases
Compensation for injured or killed workers
6 day, and then 5 day work week (currently working on a 4 day work week)
Employment insurance
Lowering taxes on workers, increasing taxes on billion dollar corporations
14 hour, then 10 hour, then 8 hour work day
Overtime pay
Minimum safety standards for workers
Minimum safety standards for products
Banning dumping toxic waste into our air and rivers
Banning discrimination in the workplace
Weekends
Paid sick days
Holiday pay
Paid benefit plans
Pension plans
Maternity leave
The right to refuse unsafe work
And the Left is currently working on UBI and a Living Wage for all!
If you enjoy any of these things, thank the Left, and thank unions!

Centrist Liberals now: "Oh well paid sick days are common sense, I support that."
Centrist Liberals in 1919: "Ugh why do all these poors want sick days?! They're too lazy to work through their dysentery."
Union strong always.

As an Albertan, what's a minimum wage increase?

They are few and far between.
Last increases were brought to us by the “evil, woke” Alberta NDP .
The wonderful righteous UCP have kept poor Albertans exactly where they belong, in last place.
