The guy plays one of the most iconic superheroes in history, in one of the biggest movie franchises in history, is extremely liked by the public, a good actor, and has no known scandal. I'm pretty sure he can say whatever the fuck he wants and actually I'm disappointed that some others don't do the same in their situation.

Ruffalo also narrated a small indy documentary called Invisible Hand. It explored fracking and gas extraction, primarily in Pennsylvania, and how PA's DEP enables environmental impacts from natural gas extraction in the state. Made by The Public Herald. Almost no one has heard of them but Ruffalo did the narration for their film. Listed as EP, so he probably helped fund its making.

I think there are 3 factors.
A ton of people arent really familiar with it so the tone was met with a mix of "oh theyre trying to capitalize off deadpool" and "oh more usually marvel goofiness"
It was aggressively combative with the people it knew would hat le it no matter what. The marketing campaign was specifically designed to look like "women good men bad" to the people who desperately love their lives to try to find that, the story beats were aggressively pointed at making those people the actual show villain, and then it set up too good of a final confrontation to sidestep put of showing. That one was a genuine disappointment for me.
But I felt like we actually got a fairly good representation of what She Hulk really is. I enjoyed it and woul happily watch a season 2.
