Tldr: Man chased then threatened to stab me after an incident involving his partner's unleashed dog during my morning run. Should I report the incident to police?

I (M40s) went for a run this morning with my dog on a leash. We approached a couple who had their two dogs off-leash on the bike/walk path. It's wrong but it's common so instead of confrontation, I just give a wide berth whenever I encounter these situations

The man (to his credit) leashes his dog (looked like a staffy mix) when he sees us. The woman leaves her smaller fluffball unleashed and it charges at my dog (a pointer). The path is narrow at this point so I slow to a walk and guide my dog to dodge the small dog and call out "Fuck" under my breath when I almost kick it. We jog past the woman who then calls me an arsehole so I give her the finger and tell her, "Leash your dog. It's clearly not friendly".

On our return leg, I see them again with the dogs off-leash but they leash them when they see us. As we approach, the man starts yelling incoherently. He's visibly angry. I tell him "Your lady called me an arsehole, how do you expect me to react?" He then tries to block my way to confront me. I assess our size difference (I'm 5'9 and 70kg; he's over 6' with a gym bro build) and decide to side-step him to avoid a potential fight. He then chases me but gives up after less than 100m. My hat flew off during the short dash and I see him holding it when I look back and hear him yelling "... I'll stab ya! Blah blah blah." My adrenaline was pumping so I yelled some insults at him and carried on.

In hindsight, I should've ignored the woman calling me an arsehole even though she was completely in the wrong but the man's reaction was disproportionately aggressive/violent. Should I report the incident to police? I don't have any camera footage of the incident and there weren't any witnesses although there may be people in the houses nearby who heard the commotion.

Hi, i was planning a trip to narooma from Sydney but when i checked through nsw trainlink web, there was no stop to narooma but only eden.

Although the google maps said there was a bus 700-1 from Nowra to Narooma. Any idea how do i book that particular bus? Or is it a normal opal tap? Thanks

I had an incident last January where I went out to a club in Kings Cross for the first time in years. I was with my girlfriend at the time.

She had her ass grabbed, was assaulted, punched in the eye. I regrettably went after those three people and had the absolute shit kicked out of me.

I was on bail for a year, weekly check-ins. My mental health declined rapidly and I now have a criminal record.

I was arrested 48 hours after the incident. These guys? Never. I've been suicidal, absolutely struggling, asking the police if they know who these people are.

They had their ID's scanned at the door. There are clear photos of all of them. The police continue to tell me they can't find them.

I don't understand how difficult it must be to work out who these people are. I'm over it. So I'm posting this today to remind everyone to never allow the assault of a woman to go unjust. Stand up for what is right. Always.

I just want justice. Peace. I've been through hell and they still walk free. I'll be so damn appreciative if anyone can help me find out who they are.

Trust me the last thing I want to do is post a video on Reddit of me getting absolutely belted. But I've waited too long. And the police are doing nothing.

Hi, I have about 1000gb of extra phone data from when I used to live in Sydney. I lived there for 6 months for school, and I never cancelled my plan because I forgot and so its just been accumulating. I'm about to get rid of my plan because I don't need it anymore, and don't want it to go to waste. It's not like I can be reimbursed for it anyways. So I just want to give it out to someone. I messaged someone I used to know in Sydney if he wanted it, but he never answered me, so his lost tbh. I would prefer to give it to a student or someone who is in "desperate" need of data but can't afford it/doesn't want to buy more. I’m in NSW and I’m pretty confused about what’s happened with my licence.
I already had a full Heavy Rigid licence. I had 7 demerit points from offences that happened well before I got my motorcycle learner licence. The fines were already paid.
Last week I went and got my motorcycle learner licence. Service NSW let me do the course/test and issued the learner rider licence with no issue.
Then not long after, I received a letter saying my motorcycle learner licence is being suspended for 3 months because the learner threshold is only 4 points and they’ve used the 7 points I already had from before I even held a motorcycle licence.
What confuses me is that the Service NSW app shows my licences separately:
Heavy Rigid unrestricted — 13 point limit
Rider learner — 4 point limit
It’s also currently showing 0 active demerit points, even though the suspension letter says 7 points were used.
I understand that paying the fines doesn’t erase the points, but I don’t understand how they can issue me a brand-new learner rider licence and then immediately suspend it using offences that happened before I even had that licence.
Has anyone in NSW had the same thing happen after adding a motorcycle learner licence to an existing full licence?
Did Service NSW/Transport fix it, or did you have to appeal the suspension through the Local Court?
I’m going into Service NSW to ask them about it, but I’d be interested to hear from anyone who has actually dealt with this before.

im an international student whos staying at iglu redfern and i recently undergone a room change due to the fact that my previous room was on the second floor and the noise and construction at night was significantly affecting my sleep
my accommodation agreed to a room change and never mentioned a room change fee or the fact that they waived it for me.
when i left my old room, i cleaned it throughly and during the inspection, i had missed some dust on doorframe which i admit was my fault. the inspector then insisted on charging me 67AUD for the dust which doesn’t seem reasonable at all to me as the conditions of the room when i moved in were literally worse. there were stains in the carpet and chairs i had to clean out myself.
so if anyone knows about the tenancy laws here is it really even reasonable for me to get charged that amount for dust?? i understand that its not a huge amount but it just doesnt seem reasonable

I’m hoping to start an online series recording the life stories of older Australians, I have a couple booked to do interviews over the next month in Wollongong area (my local).

The idea is simple: relaxed, respectful conversations with seniors about their childhood, work, family, migration, war, sport, marriage, community life, or anything else they feel is worth remembering.

My grandparents, born in 1937 and 1940, played a huge part in raising me. Their stories and advice shaped me, and as they have grown older and some of them have passed on, I’ve realised how much valuable history can disappear if nobody takes the time to record it.

I’d like to help preserve those stories for future generations.

I’m looking for people aged around 70+ from all backgrounds who may be comfortable sitting down for a conversation. Interviews would take about 90 minutes (ideally) and can be filmed at home, in a retirement village, community centre, or somewhere else quiet where they feel comfortable.

To make sure participation is genuinely informed and voluntary, interviewees would need to be able to understand the project and clearly consent to being recorded and having their story shared on the internet. Family members or carers are welcome to sit in if they desire.

There is no pressure to discuss anything they are not comfortable with, and participants can use their full name, first name only, or remain anonymous. Of course, there is no cost involved.

I am planning a road trip in October from Melbourne inland to Newcastle and then down the coast back to Melbourne. I will be traveling with my wife and 8 month year old and planning to camp most nights with some airbnbs and hotels along the way which have washers and dryers.

I am looking for advice for things to do along the way, be it your favourite hike, bakery, brewery ect.

Itinerary

Day 1, Tuesday

Leave Melbourne on a Tuesday and drive to Wagga Wagga via Wangaratta. Aim is to leave early ~7:30am and break up the drive as much as needed with stops along the way. Camping most likely at Oura River Campground close by

Day 2, Wednesday

Drive to Bathurst via small towns like Cowera and Junee, drive Mt Panorama, afternoon drinks at reckless camp close by most likely at flat rock campground

Day 3, Thursday

Hike around the Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area. Camp at lake Wallace

Day 4, Friday

Hike around Wollemi National Park or maybe go back to the Blue Mountains (been a few times before but Mountain Culture is there). Camp at lake Wallace again

Day 5, Saturday

Big driving day to Newcastle, its my wifes birthday that day so maybe visit a winery on the way and then a nice but early baby friendly place for dinner (open to any recco). Staying at Airbnb in Merewether, Newcastle.

Day 6, Sunday

explore Newcsatle specially the Mereweather and costal area, maybe visit the nearby Worimi park with the big sand dunes, drinks at Modus and other local breweries, staying at the Airbnb.

Day 7, Monday

Drive south and explore the area, camping at Frazor Campground (booked)

Day 8, Tuesday

Explore the area, camping at Frazor Campground (booked)

Day 9, Wednesday

Drive south and explore the area, camping at Putty beach Campground (booked)
