If this were a real gunfight and you use this technique, you take the risk of getting shot in the junk.

Also, if we're talking about a real gunfight with real bullets, your junk (and any other unarmored body parts) are equally at risk no matter what stance you take. Unless you're behind cover.

When you slow it down they start their draw almost simultaneously, however the guy in blue clears his holster first and fires first.

Texas Red had not cleared leather for a bullet fairly ripped And the ranger's aim was deadly with the big iron on his hip
But seriously his bullet hits the bullseye before the other people fire. That's down to 1/16 speed

So they are essentially trying to pre-aim the gun so it just needs to slip out of the holster to be on target. Why can't they just angle the holster up more so they can stand straight? Lol, I bet the best gunslingers were those that didn't follow the rules and had custom holsters 😂

I found a fast draw shooting club near-ish to where I live and did a practice session with a couple really good shooters (going by the trophy case anyway). It's a very wholesome, fun activity and it would be cool if it were more popular! Also, nobody at this club shoots in that way. It's allowed, and it's fast, but the sign on the wall quoted Wyatt Earp: "Speed is fine, but accuracy is final."

I know about this! These are hobbyist quick draw competitors. They use modified hand guns that shoot modified shells. Usually .45 long shells that use shotgun primer and wax bullets. The targets are metal and have a light behind them that activates at a random time. They draw when the light comes on, and start the timer. The timer goes off when the wax hits the target.
There are many hobbyist competitions around the US that have various competitions like quick draw. The holsters are also custom made for this.
The guns can get very expensive depending on how serious the owner wants to optimize and modify them.
