But the song is originally from the play/movie "Oklahoma". I had no idea the partial lyrics were used like that - pretty funny! I have too much real-life tornado ptsd to watch a whole movie about them.

Most, if not all, are storm chasers. That being said, waaaay too many of them are AMATEUR storm chasers who have absolutely no business being that close to a tornado of any size. The rest are actual professionals who have a very good idea of where limits are, and have scientific equipment on their vehicles gathering data. One of those vehicles is Reed Timmer, whose vehicle “Dominator 3” is designed to intercept and actually be hit by a tornado. (Though they fucked this intercept up. Rather badly too. That’s them sideways at the front of the line of cars.)

Did any of those vehicles get stuck in the "spin cycle"?! Jeez, looks like it's heading right towards them. And I don't think the legit stormchasers have police escorts with flashing lights; those look like regular folks trying to get the hell out of the twister's path.
