I want to make a new club and im very new to it. I’m a senior in high school and all my extracurriculars are outside of school so I was interested in making a club in my school to be more involved.
I can’t make a club based off an organization or making a chapter off of it because when I tried to email one it took weeks and now they responded that I have to wait another two weeks for interviews but the club form is due this week.
I want it to be interactive but also need ideas asap in a yearly plan or goal way but have no idea.
Ofc presenting slides and new info is nice and making brain activities in the end without any competitiveness, but is there more?

This was most likely a very slow build up (because a sudden onset would not go unnoticed) started by some kind of infection/bleeding, creating scar tissue where the 3rd and 4th ventricles should connect. The ventricles got a bit smaller after surgery.

I was watching a podcast of Andrew Huberman with Raj Shamani, where he talked about how high cortisol in the morning and lower cortisol at night make a person mentally powerful. I want to know if I, a 32-year-old male, want to regain, maintain and even enhance the mental energy and capacity of a 20-year-old, what are all the things that I can do to make that happen? Will it be possible?

There is this pervasive notion e.g. in sports and musical instruments that a learnt wrong movement is harder to correct than learning the correct one in the first place.

I never made this observation when playing the piano, guitar or doing anything for a fact.

Obviously the brain relies on already established patterns and I get that for some it might seem like it's harder, which I would ascribe to the astonishment of involuntarily reverting to old patterns.

Even if you do have to actively suppress the wrong pattern, it comes with the advantage of the pattern being similar so that the brain does not have to build coordination from scratch but rather can simply modify what's already there. So I would assume that most of the times the person who does have the wrong pattern will learn faster than the person who has not trained anything yet.

Is it actually harder to correct than to learn from scratch? Can you provide me representative publications?

This year I am going to write my bachelor thesis in software development, and I want to explore different directions in order to choose a nice topic.

Lately I've been getting interested in neuroscience & EEG specifically. I had a summer practice where I started to write a EEG-to-text paper my professor proposed, and I found it very entertaining to work through the preprocessing pipeline with MNE-python.

Now I would love to create a solution for some visualisation problem so that it can help people with their work. There are existing tools like MNE, EEGLAB, etc. for working with EEG signals and I do not expect to build something of this scale in a year of course, but maybe some of you are familiar with those software products and can give me some reviews on what functionality you would like to have that those tools do not offer/or you are not satisfied with their solution? It can be anything, really, even how newcomer-friendly the interface is.

Some notes: I need to create a software project, not an artificial intelligence one, so things like automatic artifacts removal through machine learning and stuff would not really fit :)) Also, I want to focus on medicine and neurological disorders diagnostics rather than on EEG-to-text conversion, so if you have any ideas about similar directions (not solely visualisation) feel free to write in the comments!

I have a BS in psychology, a MS in neuroscience, and a teaching certificate for elementary. I want to pursue something other than teaching, what else is out there? I’ve applied on linkedin, indeed, local community colleges and university research jobs and nothing :/

I recently started to work with people in very specialized fields like neurotech and feels a bit strange – guess I can't even explain it properly

the more niche someone’s expertise is, the harder it seems (at least for me) to understand where they actually "fit" or I'd even say which organisation "fits them"

Earlier I only worked with professions that were pretty bendy and multitasking in a way (?) and with people kinda desperate for work too....

but now neurotech is something extremely different and difficult – and I want to try to find the real cause of it because I refuse to believe the stereotypes of "geeky scientists who live in theirs heads, awkward around people" and so on (sorry but this one kinda annoys me)

I currently have almost two years of research experience in alcohol use disorder and transcranial magnetic stimulation research. I'm ready to transition to a new role, and although I am not opposed to staying in research, I'm open to something different or perhaps unconventional.

Hello! I am a university student and am currently doing a senior design class.

My proposed product to develop is an EEG, which takes the Beta and Theta waves present in a person and automatically compares the ratio between them to give a hypothetical psychiatrist an idea of whether or not a person has ADHD. Really its just an excuse for me to mess around with EEG with school funding.

My question is about the EEG module I am to use. I will NOT be designing the module itself as that exceeds my level of expertise, and am wanting advice on what options I have that are cheap and preferably 8 channel. I am provided with $300 dollars in funding, and all I will really need to get is the module itself, I can get the microcontrollers and computers from lab. It doesn't have to be clinical grade, just accurate enough that its worth buying.
