PLEASE pick anyone else and not this one. Medical school is usually exhausting within reason but this one is DEHUMANIZING.
The anatomy department has two professors that are the personal assistants to Lucifer: MUDr. AlžbÄta BeislovĆ”, MBA and RNDr. Miroslav Kutal, CSc.
These people are awful. Dr Beislova is extremely rude and arrogant. She has not a single ounce of decency or empathy. She is a walking vessel. They are both supposedly respectable doctors but act like high school teachers.
Dr Beislova will sometimes miss days of teaching and even skip dates that she has students booked for exams, she will not inform the students that she will not examine them, the student will just have to figure it out and if the want to reschedule, you cannot reach out to her because they professors donāt respond to emails. Other students will literally tell you that if youāre that desperate to get your exam, text her on Facebook? Where are we?
During exams she will mock you, she will sometimes laugh at you, literally laugh in your face or be extremely condescending. Itās a university not a school, professors should separate professionalism and personal feeling. She will tell you āNo, how is that possible? You donāt know this? This is very easy.ā And even if she is right, itās a student in what is supposed to be an exam, extra comments are just not professional.
She is also incredibly lazy, if there is an important credited exam, she will only take 5 students because she feels like it, if you want to try to get examined (because you literally have the right) she runs away. Iām not exaggerating. Students have to beg to get examined. Sheās just an awful person and she constantly has this need to suck up to the old professor Dr. Kutal so sheāll make fun of the students with him and keep looking at him for approval like yes pls validate me. She will also do this in an exam. He can be okay during exams, he will sometimes help, and then sheāll make snarky comments āDr. Kutal shouldnāt be giving you a lecture hahahaā and looking at him to get some smile from him. Girl get out of here.
Dr Kutal although he can be fine, he is also just a loser. There have been multiple instances where this man will yell at students when they are being examined by him, with a lot of it resulting in students crying or having panic attacks. He is literally on his death bed so he canāt hear what youāre saying and he barely understands English so itās a really lovely combo. There have been times where students donāt know what heās saying, and ask him to repeat himself and he gets offended and starts yelling. Genuinely what does someone do in that situation? He is so slow heāll speak Czech sometimes to the English students and someone has to remind him that the class has English speakers.
Again, in the case of professionalism he does not have it at all. He will clearly be speaking negatively about students in Czech to Dr Beislova, which is extremely disrespectful when it is an ENGLISH programme. Speak Czech when the class is done. Disregarding your students and communicating amongst yourselves when they are right in front of you is patronizing. He will bang tables like a big child when heās angry, he will scream at you proudly in front of other students and all in all, he needs to retire.
The department of anatomy has the most infamous final exam in the summer semester, it is known as the filtering subject because it ends up getting rid of half the students in the year. First off, itās an oral exam, in normal universities (which this one isnāt) theyāre usually written or thereās part oral and part written ā a fairer system. Oral anatomy exam is not very smart, itās usually unfair and if you think about it, it doesnāt really make sense because it rules out standardization and brings in subjectivity, and as mentioned before, this department doesnāt have an ounce of professionalism so this exam in this uni is particularly unjust. First off, during the year the department never actually explains how the exam works, what will happen, how the process looks, who examines you etc. you kind of just find out on the day of the exam (I swear to god) which as youād expect, adds to the nerves.
During the exam, a computer will generate 5 random numbers and they correspond to the questions on a list. These are EXTREMELY unfairly distributed questions. For example, one of the sections is a neuroanatomy section, you can either pull a question on a simple little nerve or the entire inner workings of your brains chemical system, so it kdoesnāt matter how good you are, it is genuinely based on luck AND how the professors are feeling. Dr Beislova and Kutal are, again, huge babies, so if theyāre feeling cranky, they fail you, if they woke up a bit happier, they might pass you if you play your cards right. Corrupt systems.
Please please please, do not come here. The university feels like youāve time traveled back to the Soviet union because of the lack of the old oral exam system, old professors who would slap your hands with a ruler if they could, and the old ass building as well.
If you havenāt taken this advice seriously, then lol good luck
