Map Dragone Stone Continent
Dragon Stone Continent
To the northwest lies the kingdom of the red dragons.
To the south lies the kingdom of the blue dragons.
To the east lies the kingdom of the black dragons.
To the west, on the other continent, lies the kingdom of the purple dragons.
The four kingdoms vie for power, even for a single piece of gold. Powerful, but unable to fly like their ancestors, due to their lack of wings.

Map Map of Predominant Terrain Types
I tried my hand for the first time at laying out an overview of the predominant terrain types for my main setting.
The island itself has roughly the size and relief of Sicily, but with a climate closer to Ireland or the Netherlands.
Intensive grain cultivation takes place mainly near the flat coastal regions. (This island is major breadbasket for the continent to the east.) Further inland you will find terraced bocage and pastures, giving way to scrubland, forest and other mountainous terrain.
Did I miss any terrains, or do you think the placement is off? Let me know!
Small caveat, I did translate my legend to English (the original is in Dutch), so apologies if the wording is a little off.

Work In Progress Decided to redo my world maps for my planet, Hetra. One is an Ancient Era and one is a more Modern one.
The flat color ones are the new version of my map. I decided to work on the costal shores and land by feeehanding it using Azgaar's system as it's inspiration.
The older ones are the ones that I had originally done without any setup. The placement of the continents won't change as much, but for the Ancient Era one, I changed it up a bit to make it feel more fantasy and alien at the same time. There's more internal bays, inlets, islands, fjords in the pangean like continent. The north pole wasn't covered in ice to begin with. It had a powerful civilization at the time.
The Ancient Era continent had a name called Greungeria, home to ancient life and pseudo-life. From 10,000 OD to 400 OD, (OD = Oldendaye) this continent had hidden knowledge along with Ancient Magic that were prominent in the era.
400 OD was when a meteor sized like Greenland came and split the continents into what the modern map looks like.
The new maps are still a WIP. I have plans to make it semi-realistic like how Earth looks.
There is also a floating sky continent that happened in 444 OD, which are spoilers for my worlds book, which I won't get into lol

Discussion Should more of the sea be deeper or shallower? Simple as that.
A.k.a. more dark blue around continent or more light blue. The edge of the eastern continent that this one split from 4 million years ago would be in the in the bottom right corner.

Discussion I'm building my first serious world and i need advice on geology, tectonic plates, biomes and ocean currents.
So a few weeks ago i began creating a mostly realistic world, and now i got to the point where it would be awkward and impractical to continue without a map.
I want to keep the world as realistic as possible, and i enjoy building the setting slowly, so i decided to include proper geology to the map.
Do you have any advice? Do you usually include these details? Is there anything to look out for that could ruin the realistic feel?
P.S.: I really want to stay as close to a realistic world as possible with this setting, it isn't really a fantasy world. It is set in an industrialized world, with its technology roughly equivalent to our 1870-1890.

Map The Sci-fi Fastasy World of ATHERNOX
...and the
Central continent (main story location) Western side: 28 Kingdoms Eastern side: 20 Kingdoms
The Eastern Lands East of Kovid mountains, 20 kingdoms including Eisenwald, and mostly human populations. *Southeast, 13 Kingdoms *Northeast, 7 Kingdoms
The Western Lands West of the Kovid mountain range and the greater Kovid Grand Forest area. Often referred to as the Savage lands, Desert Lands, Barbarian lands.
28 Kingdoms, of Demons, Oni, elves, beastmen and humans. Including rouge states of bandits and barbarians. *6 human/mixed race kingdoms on the southwest of the western lands under the control of the Xyleneus Empire. *Northwest, 8 Demon empire, Oni and Beastmen Kingdoms. *Central, 5 human desert kingdoms and rogue, bandits and barbarians lands. *East and Southeast, elven lands, 8 kingdoms *Northeast, 1 human kingdom
The Mountain Range Runs North to south. Formed from the corpse of a fallen god.
Kovidenkamm High Eisenwald Germanic: Koviden-Kamm — “The Crest of Pestilence” Common Nickname: Kovid-19 Alternate Folk Name: Der Schwarze Atem — “The Black Breath” Formal Imperial Record Name: Kovidenkamm der Neunzehntausend Toten (“The Pestilent Crest of the Nineteen Thousand Dead”)
Lore & Geography A colossal 3,200–3,400 km long, 1500-2000km wide tropical to subtropical area of mountains and forests. Contains hundreds of 2,000–4,000m peaks, with nineteen 8,000 m peaks that pierce the upper cloud layers.
Each of the nineteen highest peaks is claimed by a Monster or Beast Lord, who treats the mountain as sovereign territory. Their names replace the original geographic names in common speech. Around the mountainous are lush forests and rivers that also fall under the domain territories of some lord's peaks due to proximity.
Chroniclers, scholars, and doomed imperial scouts insist that at least 2,020 distinct lethal lifeforms have been formally cataloged: Apex monsters Carnivorous and parasitic flora Airborne spore clouds Migratory horror-beasts Curse-bearing fauna Fungal intelligences that “hunt” through infection Local belief holds that the mountains “breathe” during certain seasons: Winds descend into the lowlands carrying miasma, spores, and invisible plagues Livestock die first, followed by children and the elderly Survivors swear they hear whispers in the fog Speaking the full name Kovidenkamm is considered bad luck. Travelers shorten it to “kovid” out of superstition—believing the full name invites death.
The Grand Kovid Forest The greater Grand Kovid Forest. West of the mountains, running the length of the mountain range and almost as wide. Divided and integrated into the domains of the mountain lords closest to them. Ylsenne the White Bloom controls the largest portion.

Map Orenia but there was no War of Independence and no Mahmud Özturk
Orenia would still be an empire but the probability of a rebellion would be high, in terms of how Orenia was still unstable and has a lot of inflation(ex: 1 Orenian lira = nearly 70 USD), and the economy would be going down, so this is a time that the people rebel instead of being ubermensch who stay loyal to the “emperor” that doesn’t even have most of the power just controlled by the Young Turks.

Discussion My first map to share
As part of a larger fantasy map I’m working on, I created this island, which is roughly half the size of New Zealand. I haven’t added any of the civilization-related elements yet; for now, I wanted to start with the geography, with settlements and roads coming later.
I’d love to hear what kind of advice, ideas, or suggestions you might have! I’ve made maps before, but this time I started with a much bigger project in mind, and I’ve also put a lot more work into it than usual (and this isn’t even the first time I’ve drawn it).
I know a lot of people struggle to get started when it comes to coming up with the shapes of landmasses. In my case, the inspiration actually came from a half-torn sticker on a diaper bin. So, you could say that this little corner of my world was practically built out of shit. 😂 It just goes to show that it’s worth keeping your eyes open and finding inspiration in the world around you! :)
I’m open to any advice, feedback, or criticism!
Greetings from Hungary! 🇭🇺

Map My original map for a DND world I created.
I created this map on ProCreate, tracing the outline of various spilled liquids to make the shapes of the continents. I came up with lore as I created each area.
My favorite part is the bat-shaped Obsidian Wastes, where the largest kingdom on the continent was once located… Until the sun god blew himself up to destroy a nearly-unbeatable anti-magic army, taking most of the population with him. Now it is just a wasteland of volcanoes and obsidian flats.
We never ended up finishing the campaign, but I’m still planning on running more stories within this world.

Work In Progress Forests. Question.
Drawing a map woth this style of forests for the first time, and I may have bitten off more than I can chew.
Does anyone have any suggestions for points of interest to put in the forests to break them up a little, ideally not manmade.

There is still another landmass even bigger than this up there, and several continents on the left side. But this is the first finished map I got.

Common name: Austrespina
Local name: Südreistek / Súðreistek
Literal just means Southern Three Spine.

Discussion What do you think about my mountains?
I tried to combine the 2 types of mountain ranges that I know
The results ended up better than I expected but I'm not confident about the shadings
Please tell me how you feel about it, all critics are welcomed
