I can’t even see the man, it’s like he’s an ant!

u/ElegantDependent6747 Jul 23 '26

Say that again…

u/3merite Jul 23 '26

That again...

u/Niglie_trollster Jul 23 '26

No the other thing...

u/R4rk3t Jul 23 '26

u/LemonIcy2942 Jul 23 '26

No not that thing, the thing they mentioned!

u/Isaacja223 Jul 23 '26

But they mentioned the thing

This one is just really funny

u/joped99 Jul 23 '26

What is this? A poster for... oh.

u/ElBrunasso Jul 23 '26

Ant themed heroes

u/Smrtihara Jul 23 '26

What is this? A poster for ants?

u/Old_Dependent_2147 Jul 23 '26

Ok, but why male models?šŸ˜†

u/GaigeMechro92 Jul 23 '26

Are you serious? I just told you that a moment ago.

u/Pet_Velvet Jul 23 '26

Probably the only genuinely unique MCU poster

u/AngelTheMarvel Jul 24 '26

Ant-man had some bangers

u/AngelTheMarvel Jul 24 '26

u/toastedshmoe Jul 24 '26

bro smoked that entire room, which i'm so glad is ACTUALLY POSSIBLE. "Hit too hard, it's a gunshot." or something along those lines. bro's a human bullet.

u/pyriclastic_flow Jul 23 '26

Almost all the mcu movies have unique posters like this, but you have to dig for them. They mostly market the floating head posters.

u/That_Carrot999 Jul 23 '26

The whole trilogy does this trend and it’s awesome

u/IndustryPast3336 Jul 23 '26

This reminds me of a talk JC Quintel had where he wanted to do the exact same thing to advertise Regular Show but the network wouldn't do it because it'd be a huge waste of money.

Thunderbolts*

u/prolofoid Jul 23 '26

This poster is hard af. Is the movie good? I haven't watched marvel in forever

u/Theguywholikesdoom Jul 23 '26

It’s actually one of the better marvel movies! I really like the main antagonist, and themes.

→ More replies (5)

u/Barrel-Dweller Jul 23 '26

i really liked it. it’s got the good blend of comedy and sincerity that the mcu heyday was known for

u/MarkAverage656 Jul 23 '26

One of the better recent Marvel movies (not that it's only good in comparison tho, it is just actually good)

u/carledu69 Jul 23 '26

Probably the best thing that released in this phase

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '26

[removed] — view removed comment

u/Barrel-Dweller Jul 23 '26

and it has nothing to do with the multiverse lol (except the post-credits scene)

u/CeruleanEidolon Jul 23 '26

Depends on how you define it. Bob basically imprisons people inside their own dark shadow universes when he banishes them to the Void.

I'd say it counts.

→ More replies (2)

u/Mr-Stuff-Doer Jul 23 '26

One of the best overall. Probably in top 10 at least.

u/Transpotato2002 Jul 23 '26

I'd say a good 7.5/10 or maybe 8/10 on a good day

Really fun and tackles its themes really well, only hampered (not even that much tbf) by the... MCU-ness of it

u/NightSpringsRadio Jul 23 '26

Thaaaaat’s really good, actually

u/Makaronika Jul 23 '26

Wait this is amazing

u/uber_potatos Jul 23 '26

This movie had by far the most creative marketing in all MCU.

u/PaulOwnzU Jul 24 '26

I still remember thinking they were just hiding the voids designs in the trailers and posteds and was dreading it wasn't going to look good.

Turned out to literally just be void and I love it.

i love how in every shot of the crash in the film, they try to make him appear the least like a living thing as possible to truly show how violent of a crash it was. hide his eyes, hide his mouth, and hide the crowd of other cars, and suddenly this is a very real-feeling scene. i love it.

I will forever prefer this poster for The Batman

u/AlternativeRun5727 Jul 23 '26

I feel like this is incredible as well, probably my favorite poster of all time.

u/theMansterr Jul 23 '26

While I really like this poster, I think if they had removed "The Batman" it would've been that much better, almost like how it was for the 1989 Batman alternate posters

u/bannasplt Jul 23 '26

I found this online, no idea if it's official or not.

u/mailastmun Jul 24 '26

I have the original poster on my wall and damn I wish this was the actual one

u/TheNohrianHunter Jul 23 '26

I disagree mostly bwcause of how this poster reflects the film. Batman is kinda blurry and lost in the rain, while the title is in perfect focus, which is a trick the film uses a lot. It will oftej focus on a seemingly mundane object or light and blur the rest of the screen to add tension, which this poster does too.

u/MusicMan412 Jul 23 '26

damn that goes hard

u/Honest-Ad-4386 Jul 23 '26

I can hear the theme music in the poster

u/moosemuffin12 Jul 23 '26

u/nastyforehead I LOVE my best friend Jul 23 '26

u/GoldenNat20 Jul 23 '26

I think the Star Wars one says plenty, and honestly…
IMHO it’s the coolest one. Reminds the viewer that in the back of their mind, that little child will become the unstoppable monster that was Darth Vader.

u/Ditto13248 Jul 23 '26

Logan says a lot too 1-the claws tell you that this is wolverine, a character we are already familiar with(even if only through pop culture osmosis). 2-The claws being drawn tells you wolverine intends to harm something. 3-the little hand tells you a kid is there and is important enough to be on the poster. 4-the kid holding on to him tells you that the kid trust him for one reason or another.

We can use this information to speculate on the film.

We already know wolverine has a heart of gold, but he doesn't hesitate to use violence when necessary. In the eyes of the average marvel citizen he's scarier than heroic, far from the ideal role model, and he knows it.

If a child is holding on to him of all people, said child probably doesn't have anyone else to go to, and wolverine probably wouldn't take care of one in any other situation, he knows he isn't someone to look up to.

But he has his claws out wolverine might spook a child with a "boo" but he wouldn't threaten one with his claws, especially if the child trusts him.

If he has his weapons out it's to use against bad guys, ones that may be after him or even the child.

We can already infer what the core of the story is just from this poster.

A child who has nobody else to go to is stuck with wolverine as their only guardian. And wolverine is also stuck with a kid he knows he isn't fit to care for, yet he must, because nobody else can. But on their path lies opposition that aims to separate the two(the reason we don't know) and wolverine will have to engage in physical combat to protect the kid(either from direct harm or the lack of a guardian)

This single image isn't basic at all, it is the definition of "a picture speaks a thousand words"

u/webchimp32 Jul 23 '26

3-the little hand

Little hand? Have you seen those fingers?

→ More replies (1)

u/ThatVampireGuyDude Jul 24 '26
  1. Wolverine has visible cuts on his hand and arm. He isn't healing.

u/Motor-Rip7655 Jul 24 '26
  1. The kid has REALLY long fingers. No, seriously, LOOK at the image. Those fingers are FREAKISHLY long.

u/TeaDrinkerAddict Jul 23 '26

It’s an incredibly effective poster that does a lot with relatively little. The Prequels had some awesome ideas on paper, even if the execution was mixed in results.

→ More replies (2)

u/MadRaymer Jul 23 '26

Yeah, the thing about The Phantom Menace poster is you have to remember the pure unbridled hype for the prequels. If you weren't there it's hard to fully describe it.

For example, when the first trailer dropped, people would show up to movies they didn't care about just to watch the trailer. They paid full price, sat down, watched the trailer, then left.

So that poster didn't exist in a vacuum. Star Wars fans already knew who Vader was, and were beyond hyped to see the prequel. So when you consider the context it existed in, that poster was actually saying a lot.

Kind of similar but the halo 2 collectors edition didn’t even say Halo on it, but it was so culturally relevant that you knew what it was.

u/Toast_daddy Jul 23 '26

"halo 2 doesn't even say halo on the front, it just says 2 you know what game this is biiiiiiitch". ~Dunkey

u/pinoomsmith Jul 24 '26

It's glover 2 right?

u/aw000000000000 Jul 23 '26

Never had an Xbox or ever played halo. I saw the picture and said Halo in my head.

Then I read your comment and was shocked to see it didn't say halo anywhere.

It grosses me out how sometimes the stretches from the "clay" look cartoony at times. (in a good way)

u/ZealotOfMeme Jul 24 '26

There’s a scene in the new trailer where his eyes get covered, so he has to snip off the clay bit. In a plane bathroom. While there’s turbulence. That part might be hard for me to watch.

Speaking of airplane bathrooms, not to brag but I had sex with Eartha Kitt in one.

Sure beats the floating heads poster of today

Edit: Yes, I know the backrooms was released this year. I'm just saying floating heads are the common thing. If multiple people have already pointed something out- You don't need to comment the same thing 😭

u/The_Multi_Gamer Jul 23 '26

Everyone on the poster looking wistfully away from the centre with an orange to deep blue gradient

u/SeaSlugFriend Jul 23 '26

Third one is from this year

u/MediocreProductions6 Jul 23 '26

That’s true. I didn’t mean like they’re the only kind of poster now, just that they’re the Hollywood staple as of now, opposing when it was far more common to be stylistic.

u/ArmadilloOK1445-alt Jul 23 '26

u/Itchy-Ad-1249 Jul 24 '26

why is this just the cars 3 poster but iron man.

That’s wild, the composition is almost identical. Same angle and everything. Iron Man 3 came out first too so everyone’s favorite poster is just a cheap imitation

u/Lando_Lee Jul 23 '26

The Star Wars one has a lot of information in it imo, arguably the entire story lol

u/MainAccount_ Jul 23 '26

To be fair, it's not really new information. Viewers were already keenly aware that Anakin would become Darth Vader.

That Phantom Menace poster might actually be the greatest movie poster of all time

u/RoseRedRhapsody Jul 23 '26 edited Jul 24 '26

It says everything without saying anything. It hits hard to know that this sweet little boy who calls PadmƩ an angel will turn into a disturbed man who will one day kill her.

u/Gwanbulance Jul 23 '26

Also, he’s walking on sand, and he doesn’t like sand because it’s coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. I mean, of course he was going to turn to the dark side with all that bloody sand!

u/L_Dude320 Jul 23 '26

Every Avengers movie has one, but I’d argue that this is the best one. It’s the same logo as Infinity War’s teaser poster mid-dust, and imo hammers home just how climactic Endgame was as the capstone of the Infinity Saga

u/Beautiful-Tap-8978 Jul 24 '26

u/avgmastermind Jul 23 '26

Since I’ve seen this a lot, I should clarify: by ā€˜information’ I mean things like the names of cast and crew or other text.

u/FriedChickenCheezits Jul 23 '26

The Shin Kamen Rider posters are a favorite of mine for this reason. They're all very minimal and whatever text that does make it onto the poster are very vague. The only words (besides film credits) on this poster are the movie's very vague tagline: "Those which change. Those which never change. And those that don't want to change". A detail that I love is how you can see Hongo's human eyes below the helmet's eyes, where the suit actor is supposed to look out of. The behind-the-scenes also mention the helmet being of a Shocker Rider's and not Hongo's helmet which is another thing I'm obsessed with

u/Liberum-Veto Jul 23 '26

You should check out Polish film posters, I think you'll like them
