I say this in the most affirming, positive way: I love when Mingi gets his hoe moment, some people call him cringy for his behavior but honestly, I think this is hot as fuck from him, the body, the moves, the confidence, chef's kiss.
Also, I will always love Ateez for 100% committing to the bit. This song has been performed by quite a few boy groups (especially during fanmeets) and it tends to get the hover hands/"no homo bro" treatment and there's none of that here. Extremely iconic behavior and I hope we get the full performance eventually!!!

I just think that some of these people who call him cringe might just feel second hand embarrassment because they can't handle his bold and unapologetic self and are projecting their own discomfort onto him. He knows he's HOT, he's self assured and he knows his fans love it too. Requires a massive amount of confidence to perform like that.... I can't even begin to imagine.

Fun fact sidebar: You're on to something! Twenty years ago we absolutely would have called uncomfortable feelings and projection like you describe here as second hand embarrassment. "Cringe" is just the new lingo. In another twenty years kids will be literally cringing at their parents' use of the word.
I also agree with your assessment. Performers like to perform, and this kind of versatility is both a professional strength and a lot of fun.

I love that he has the ability to appear absolutely shameless on stage and I love that he has fun performing both super ‘masculine’ and very ‘feminine’ moves with a lot of confidence

I LOVE SEEING ANOTHER OF MY BIASES COVER THIS SONG!!! I haven’t seen HYUNHO, I did see a YEONJUN and BEOMGYU, “Candy In My Ear” cover and it was another CLOSE ENCOUNTER!! And it’s more funny because of their antics with one another. 🤗🤭🥳🤩🥰😍😂😂😂😂😂

Honestly, respect to Mingi to surpassing even Lee Know in his commitment to the bit. My guy was locked in and, as far as I could see, didn't crack even once (sure made Seonghwa crack, tho).
But Hyunho's ass-grap remains undefeated.
