How to knit free loops together?

Hi! I've knitted a lopspeysa sweater from bottom to top and therefore i had to leave ~21 free loops under sleeves from both sides. At the time (and now also) i couldn't find any information about how to close them and just sewed them together. But after several days of wearing, this happened. What should I do, how to close it so it won't break again?

My balloon sleeve looking odd once attached - what to do?

Hi knitters :) I made this sweater but when attaching the sleeve to the body, it looks odd - this is a drop shoulder garment and a balloon sleeve, and it looks like there is an excess of fabric under the armpit making the sleeve edge rolling inward. I made top of the sleeve flat and caclulated the gauge to attach it to the body.
I was thinking maybe undoing the head of the sleeve and kniting it again in a triangle shape to remove the excess? What do you think ? what is causing this and how to solve it? Thank you so much ❤️

Suggestions for first colorwork?

Upvotes

Hi! I have been knitting scarves and simple tops but want to try doing colorwork for the first time. Anyone have any suggestions? Not just for patterns but for any tutorials that anyone's found useful, kinds of projects that are good for experimenting and trying new things.

Colour work fumble

I’ve not done much colour work before, and have frustratingly knit this skull and crossbones motif too tightly, so the carried yarn at the back isn’t slack enough and is causing bunching to the front.

Just spitballing here, but could I cut the threads?! And then tie them to the row above/below them, rather than carrying across the motif?

This is a sweater for my boyfriend, with a skull and crossbones on each sleeve (he’s very tall and broad and wants it to be baggy, hence why this sleeve is massive!). Seeing as I will need to do the second sleeve, could I in theory attach 2 balls of the cream yarn, one for either side, to avoid carrying the yarn across the design?

Thank you so much in advance!!

(Ps the pattern I’m doing is called the Skully Sweater by Samantha Bliss.)

Is there any way to knit this sweater as a beginner? (I’m a crocheter)

Post image

I’m a crocheter and I really want to get into knitting. I crocheted this sweater and I like it, but I think it would look so much better if it were knitted. I’ve got the stockinette stitch down, but I really want to learn sweaters and color work. I’ve heard of intarsia and the duplicate stitch, but to learn how to make the sweater part first. Are there any sweater tutorials for beginners that I can incorporate this design into? I’m a little nervous and lost.

Line next to i-cord of the sophie shawl

I started on this sophie shawl by petite knit and was wondering if it is normal that there is a distinct line left from the i-cord, next to my thumb. It is a little bit less visible on the wrong side. Am I doing something wrong here?

Afterthought 2 stitch buttonholes

Upvotes

Hello there, I am currently knitting the Traveler’s Cardigan by Ozetta but because it has an integrated button band, you have to decide in advance on how long you want the cardigan to be. I’ve seen there are a few ways of doing afterthought buttonholes but I’m a bit nervous about knitting the whole cardigan and then messing them up. Just wondering whether anyone has successfully managed this? Grateful for any tips on this 😊 https://ravel.me/travelers-cardigan-2

Tips for making a matching sweater?

Post image

Above is the beloved sweater of a dear friend. For years she has been mailing it to me for mending/repair, then I send back to her once done. I have repaired all the seams, and re-knit the cuffs, and sewn up a few small holes.

Eventually, it will be beyond repair. I’ve never knit a sweater before and would like to make a replacement for her when the time comes.

I looked for cardigan patterns on Ravelry, and there are tens of thousands! Instead of sorting through all that, I thought I’d ask if anyone has come across a similar pattern before? Or has any advice on how to approach this project. Thanks!
