Made With Traditional Tools๐Ÿชจ Klein karoo basin, oudtshoorn ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ Looking for Chert, silcrete, quartzite. I have Quartzite/quartz cobblestones, enon conglomerate. I have hornfel from flood washout and in my yard. Any other fellow South Africans here? Any tips and help ๐Ÿ™ and anyone in general. I use primitive tech and new tech

I was actually just in South Africa and got a bunch of material from there! If you know anyone in the Northern Cape north of Kimberly, basically the entire place is full of banded ironstone, which ranges from unworkable to an excellent chert like material. Just be careful with knapping artifacts. Thereโ€™s chert scattered around which is just as good too. Iโ€™d recommend checking along roadways and gravel paths for nice big slabs that you could work
