I would certainly be thrilled if a new Killzone game or any other project—whether a remake or a remaster—actually came out. However, I feel compelled to point out that in the six years I’ve been running the Russian-speaking Killzone fan community, we’ve seen this kind of announcement before. Every previous instance turned out to be nothing more than tabloid rumors or, in one case, a Horizon VR project (remember how everyone screamed with joy back then, thinking, "Oh, hooray—Killzone VR?!").

And now, I will modestly recall the statement by Guerrilla art director Roy Postma, whom we once nicknamed the gravedigger of Killzone because of the following moment in a Washington Post interview (https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/video-games/2024/10/21/lego-horizon-adventures-is-all-ages-crossover-sonys-dreams/): “We were done with it as a team. As a studio, we needed to refresh the palette. It was, by choice, the opposite of ‘Killzone,’” said art director Roy Postma, who has worked at Guerrilla since 2000. “I think the themes that this story and its characters represent are relatable to people of all ages, such as having a found family of friends and finding your place in the world.” According to him, following the release of Killzone: Shadow Fall in 2013, the developers have no intention of returning to the franchise. Instead, they chose to focus on the "colorful and diverse" Horizon universe, which has the potential to attract a broader audience.

However, I suppose it’s possible that some game might be re‑released for the new PlayStation, similar to Killzone: Liberation. I just wanted to express myself, because I’ve already seen people’s hearts broken after yet another Game Awards; perhaps my thoughts will prepare you a bit for yet another unfavorable outcome...

It seems that a studio is cooking something new for the saga hopefully and everything goes well That's what we all expect If not, it would be a great disappointment for much of this community. I hope it's not just noise and do something good really Now it's just time to wait partners.

Just doom scrolling through Twitter (X) I came across a post, then various post that a particular franchise that a lot of us thought long forgotten and put on a shelf never to be seen or touched again was being brought back. This franchise just so happened to be Killzone.

When seeing this, my eyes lit up and my heart skipped a beat or two. Then remebered all those fond memories I had with this franchise growing up. Mainly with Bot modes in Killzone 1 and Online Multiplayer and bot mode on Killzone 2.

I had thought this franchise was placed into a dark room never to be seen again because even the creators themselves didnt want anything to do with the IP anymore, they said they were done.

Helldivers 2 brought a glimmer of hope by showing love to the IP by giving us an inspired Legendary Warbond, which the way it was handled, yes did annoy a lot of people, but I still bought it and wore it proudly.

They eventually fixed the warbond and brought it back for those that missed it.

I have never taken off that armor, deep down inside with the lore of the helghans and the lore of Helldivers, we were given a planet within their game, Solghast. To breath, to rebuild, to strengthen our arms and to be able to carry a new front into battle...

I dont know exactly what is potentially happening with the Killzone IP, but if it is yet again being touched by Guerrilla Games and in partnership with People Can Fly, I hope they give this game the justice and light it deserves to show Sony that we are still out there and care very much about this franchise.

Whether it be a remake, a remaster or even a reboot, I and many others will be there front row waiting to be able to fight again within the Killzone Universe.

FINALLY. HOPEFULLY IT IS KILLZONE 2 REMAKE!!!!

Every detail in that game was fantastic. The gravity the atmosphere, everything was 10/10

Sadly killzone 4 ruined everything, I think it is the main reason the studio stopped developing more killzone titles.

I read that the remake/remaster is supposed to be worked by guerilla in collaboration with polish developers that made outriders. And that game wasnt the best and definitely does not fit killzone in any aspect

Bit of a random question!

I dug out my copy of KZ2 and had a few games on the PSRewired server this weekend, proper proper enjoyed it!

I've just been looking through my PS3 PSN store downloads and the 'Flash & Thunder' & 'Napalm & Cordite' are both available to download but there's no sign of 'Steel & Titanium'.

The DLC map I clearly remember playing BITD was the map on the train which I'm sure is part of the S&T DLC.

Was this DLC removed even for people who bought it?

Ofc I want a remake/reboot in the series but getting Killzone 1, 2 and 3 remastered in the Decima engine would be absolutely fantastic.. I hope the rumor is true. I grew up playing Killzone..
