I just started writing and found a flow similar to poetry, I decided to write about my current relationship where I've been struggling to find understanding in self worth and that I'm enough. FYI he doesn't make me feel like I'm not enough I have some baggage I'm working through while with him. I also like to write with my Christian faith so please be respectful!! Anyways, let me know your thoughts.
Rested palms,
For restless minds,
Bound by prayers and peace,
Peace that binds two hearts to love for one,
For the One above.
She wonders where the time even began,
What a prayer,
To just appear.
The relentless fear,
To be perfect and clear.
She wasn’t deserving of this,
She’s selfish and resentful.
She lives like death is near,
What else is there to bring to the table.
She brings fear and greed,
Past mistakes and current regrets,
But most importantly love and dedication.
How could it even be this one,
So perfect and well-rounded.
Smart and strong,
Tough enough to show the real care.
She learns for him,
To talk when “nothing” sounds better than a fall.
Given the space for acceptance,
Warmth to cry,
Padding to fall.
Gratitude and grace received,
When for once didn’t have to be pleaded.
She was now enough,
More than just enough.
To the lord they sing,
They pray,
Like it’s a brand new day.
Days for laughter,
Days for sadness,
Days for anger,
Then the days for just one another.
She leans to him,
For forgiveness and understanding,
She fights her own truth.
She doesn’t know what to say,
How to cry,
He holds her restless mind,
With palms to hands rested again,
Giving peace,
To a face that’s no longer dry.
What is ever enough?
The broken days,
The built up pain,
Not knowing if this was the last.
Never just,
Good bye,
More so a see you later.
She was always enough,
Deep down she knows,
That most definitely shows,
From what the Lord has shown her.
She learned most deeply of all,
She deserves to love,
He deserves her love as well.
She now brings love to herself before its ever to him.
She holds dedication near,
When giving up is easier,
Than fear,
She holds true to grace and forgiveness.
Mistakes were made,
Forgiveness was paid,
She knows to love,
From actions,
Not from feels.
He never made her who she is,
Just the safety to believe it,
I was always enough way before him.
There’s no perfection,
Love is honestly,
Dedication and perseverance,
Grace and forgiveness,
Built from our Lord.
I don’t know where this will go,
But I will always know,
He was loved today.
