Islamabad This happened a while back but I still feel guilty
Hey guys, on the I-8 Expressway interchange I once saw a woman on a scooty e bike whatever it’s called stranded at night
She waved at me signalling me to stop and I pressed my brakes, was about to stop but then this thought raced through my mind keh what if she’s a scammer and a group of guys are hiding in the bushes so I didn’t stop and kept driving forward but I feel so guilty lol. What if she actually needed help?
I could’ve probably put her bike in my trunk and dropped her home but still the fear of being robbed overtook me, I didn’t even have my firearm with me
Was this the right decision?

You never drop an alone woman home. Things could go wrong in a whole plethora of ways.
Just think about it, why would she wave to a complete stranger to drop her home when she could actually call someone she knows?
Good decision imo

On the flip side she could've been a women in need of help 'casue her bike ran out of battery or something like that. While OP did the right thing not stopping, you could've at least called 15 and told them the situation so they might help her if indeed she was in need of help.

You could have stopped the car near her with foot on the race. Inquired the situation.
Helped if needed or sped away.

if she was in need of help or if she was a scammer dailing 15 while being at safe distance is a step you could have taken
if she was a scammer she would atleast change the spot after police visit her or if she needed help police would have assisted her

Dont feel guilty. Assume that she might have left her home with the mobile phone. She could have called her family member or atleast police

In a similar situation again, you should take your car towards her and talk to her while sitting in your car Dont step out of the car and be ready to push the speed incase smth goes off

You did the right thing. In a low trust society like Pakistan our priority becomes ourselves and our families. You kept your self safe and reached home safely to your family.

It's scary nowadays to drop a strange woman. Even tho some need your help but it's hard to do at least for me

Dodged a bullet! I know it feels wrong but putting your own life at risk for such a thing is not so smart. People have faced such incidents before and have had really bad encounters like false report of kidnapping, robbery etc.

Help a stranger (male/female) if and only if there is a clear sign that they actually need help. Once upon a time I was travelling with my Ammi and mamoo near Sidhnaai Headworks. My mamoo saw a woman at a distance waving to someone in the river. At first he thought someone from her family is drowning in the river. Mamoo pushed the accelerator of his jeep hard and stopped near that woman. She was actually waving to her husband who was fishing in the river on a small boat and it was about to go dark almost Maghrib prayer time. Her husband shouted from distance that he will come later almost after an hour so you should go back home its getting late. We stopped for a bit and dropped that woman near the road leading to her home. So we helped her because we knew she actually needs help (basically a lift)
