Seeking Support Im giving everyone a chance knowing it’s haram

Upvotes

Salam Alaikum. I’m a single woman without any friends or social life. I like to play video games online and meet a few people virtually. We tend to get in communication and I give in. They’re typically all males. They become a sort of friend even though I know they aren’t. And then I start communicating with them while they send flirtatious messages etc. I unfortunately don’t stop or block them…I wanna say I’m not the perfect Muslim. I grew up very westernized and religion wasn’t really practiced in my family. As I’m getting older, I’ve been praying almost all 5 times a day Alhamdullilah and avoiding anything else “wrong” but just this I can’t seem to stop. I want friends and companions etc. it seems impossible to find in any other way. I’m ashamed and afraid I’ll be punished by Allah SWT…I don’t know how to become better

The Virtue of Secret Supplication:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best remembrance (or supplication) is that which is made in secret, and the best provision is that which suffices."

Source: Al-Tirmidhi 3479 | Sahih

Context: Reflects the etiquette of Prophet Zakariya’s supplication highlighted in Surah Maryam ("When he called upon his Lord a private call").

Comprehensive Promise Regarding Supplication:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “No Muslim makes a supplication that does not involve sin or breaking family ties, except that Allah gives him one of three things: He will either grant his request quickly, store it up for him in the Hereafter, or avert an equivalent evil from him."

Source: Ahmad 11133 | Sahih

Context: Reinforces the verse's theme that Allah responds to His servants when they call upon Him with sincere devotion.

The Sinless Nature of Yahya (AS):

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There is no one among the children of Adam who has not sinned or intended to commit a sin, except Yahya, the son of Zakariya."

Source: Al-Tirmidhi 3144 | Sahih

Seeking Support I Feel so alone

Upvotes

Alhamdulillah, He has sustained me and provided for me in abundance. Yet, I just can’t seem to get rid of this feeling of loneliness.

My heart longs for a partner with whom I can share my struggles, my happiness, and my sorrows. Someone I can look forward to, someone who reminds me of my salah, wakes me up for Fajr, and with whom I can praise Allah together.

I long for that kind of companionship. Wherever I look, I see couples, and sometimes it feels like it’s just me and Allah against the world.

Life has its difficulties, and I face them with Allah by my side. I am grateful for everything He has blessed me with, but somehow, this loneliness still doesn’t seem to disappear.

Ya Rabb, help me understand this feeling, give me sabr, and help me deal with this loneliness. And if companionship is written for me, bless me with someone who brings me closer to You and with whom I can walk this life in Your obedience. Ameen.

Seeking Support Duaas for my Sick Grandmother

Upvotes

My grandmother hasn’t been feeling well this entire month. She has kidney dialysis three times a week, and every time she comes home, she feels terrible. Alhamdulillah, she has her husband and my parents there to take care of her and help her through it.

I’m also a university student, and since I’m the main translator for my family, I’ve been trying to help with appointments, communication, and whatever else they need while keeping up with school. It’s been a lot of pressure, and we’re all doing everything we can for her, but right now I feel like we could really use everyone’s duaa.

Please make duaa for my grandmother—that Allah grants her shifa, gives her strength and ease through her dialysis, and protects her health. And please keep my parents and the rest of my family in your duaas as well. We’re going through a difficult time right now, and any duaa would mean so much to us.

May Allah reward you all. Ameen. 🤍

General Discussion Coming back to Salah and the masjid tomorrow after years of neglecting it. I feel lost, but I need this. Please make dua for me.

Upvotes

As-salamu alaykum everyone.

I’m a 21-year-old brother living in Delhi , and I’ll be completely honest.
I have neglected my prayers and my connection with Allah for years , i never did once prayed the salah 5 times a day i only attended jummah prayer . Life has been incredibly heavy lately. I’ve been drowning in severe career anxiety, regrets about my academic past, feeling completely unloved, and carrying a lot of self-hatred from being pushed to the sidelines and bullied growing up. I have massive ambitions, but trying to carry all this weight on my own is finally crushing me.

I realized today that I can’t do this alone anymore. I need peace. I need grounding.

So tomorrow, I am going to the masjid. I am going to start praying again. I haven’t done this in so long that I feel a bit intimidated and honestly a little unworthy, but I know I need to turn back to Allah.

I’m posting this here to hold myself accountable. If anyone has advice for a brother trying to rebuild his connection with his deen from absolute scratch, or if you could just make a small dua for my consistency, my future, and my peace of mind, I would appreciate it more than you know.

JazakAllah khair.

Seeking Support I turned 30 this year, and I feel like I have lost my twenties to depression, loneliness and failed relationships

Upvotes

I turned 30 this year, and instead of feeling that I have built a life, I feel defeated, depressed and left behind.

I moved to Europe 14 years ago to study medicine and have lived alone ever since. Somewhere along the way, depression, loneliness and isolation took over. I gradually lost my ability to function and think clearly. I eventually left medicine and started studying something else. Now, at 30, I still have not finished my bachelor's degree. I only have my final project left, yet some days even getting out of bed feels impossible.

I have almost no friends. What I wanted more than anything was simply genuine companionship, but the relationships I found were mostly with men who saw my loneliness and vulnerability as something they could exploit. I was already exhausted, depressed and desperate for affection, so I tolerated things I normally never would have tolerated.

One long-distance relationship particularly damaged me. He played with my emotions, humiliated me, exploited how emotionally deprived I was, and I kept forgiving him and returning. At one point he told me, “If I wanted to, I could ruin your life.” Later, after leaving his poison behind, he mocked the idea that he had harmed me: “Did I tell you not to pray? How could I ruin your life when we live so far apart?”

I had spent years trying to live a disciplined and religious life in Europe. That relationship disturbed something inside me deeply. I made mistakes during a period when I was severely depressed, but I have since tried to reset my moral compass and protect my faith, dignity and upbringing.

I also tried Islamic marriage groups, hoping that approaching marriage seriously would be different. Instead, I repeatedly encountered men who seemed interested in entertainment, control or sexual gratification while using religion and marriage as respectable packaging. Some had spent years in casual or sexual relationships and suddenly wanted a “pure” woman, while apparently having no intention of holding themselves to the same standard.

I am tired of being someone's temporary experiment.

The painful part is that this goes much further back than romantic relationships. I don't remember ever truly feeling loved growing up. My brother has probably been the one person whose love I never doubted. My relationship with my parents became more loving later in life, but as a child I often felt unseen by my mother, while my father seemed preoccupied with his image and place in society.

Now my parents are getting older, I have only one sibling, and I am terrified of eventually losing the few people I still have.

I look around and see people living ordinary lives with their spouses, children, families and loved ones. Meanwhile, I am breaking down alone. I cry walking down the street, at the bus stop, in the supermarket. Sometimes I barely leave my bed. I struggle to find any emotional middle ground: one day I feel high and capable of rebuilding everything, then I spend days completely down again.

People say loneliness as though it is a temporary feeling. For me, it has been the structure of my life—from adolescence, through moving abroad, and into adulthood. Moving to another country only made it deeper and harder.

I am 30 years old and I am exhausted from carrying myself alone.

I don't need another person to tell me that “30 is still young.” I know that intellectually. What I don't know is how to rebuild a life after spending so many years surviving instead of living—how to finish my degree, regain my ability to function, build healthy friendships, protect myself from people who exploit vulnerability, and somehow believe that love and belonging are still possible for me.

I am tired. I genuinely don't know where to begin.

Quran & Hadith sayyidul isthaghfar

Narrated Shaddad bin Aus:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is: O Allah, You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship except You. You have created me, and I am Your servant, and I am faithful to Your covenant and promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I admit my sins. So forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
The Prophet (ﷺ) added. "If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise." https://sunnah.com/bukhari:6306

General Discussion Help I’ve lost the ability to do or learn anything

Upvotes

it’s been 4 years. I’ve had the biggest Cognitive decline. I don’t feel like person. i feel monotonous through every single thing I do or experience. like Im living in a simulation. my brain doesn’t actively register experience. it’s all vague and black and white. I feel dissociated most of the time. my youth is being wasted in this, it’s supposed my time to learn things, get education and gain skills. but I’ve lost the ability to learn absolutely anything. I can barely pass a course at uni, it’s like I’m blankly tried to experience things or study by my brain doesn’t actively register any of it. it’s almost like a ticking bomb. I’ve fallen behind and too old already. I not able to speak that much anymore and sometimes when I go long durations without speaking or writing a language, I feel like I'm going to forget the language and lose the ability to communicate. let alone humour or any form of wit or smartness. I’ve prayed to Allah and cried and begged him to cure me and bring me my abilities back. Or take my life while I’m asleep. But literally no chAnge whatsoeve. I pray 5 times a day do all my obligations avoid sins. I read, quran duas and Hadith but none of it has helped. I’m now at like a really crippling stage. I’m not sure what to do and I don’t know what Allah wants from me💔
