I had my final-stage interview at the beginning of this week. It was between me and one other candidate, and this round was with the company's founder. The whole thing was very intense, but I felt like I was doing well until he asked me what salary I wanted. The advertised range was £83k to £103k, so I asked for the top end because I've received three promotions over the past four years in my current job.
He immediately said there was no chance he would pay me that amount, cut the interview short, and wished me luck finding someone willing to offer me that salary. It was clear that the range they put in the job posting wasn't realistic in the first place.
I feel incredibly discouraged. I usually undervalue myself and ask for less than I deserve, so this time I made a conscious decision not to do that. But it backfired catastrophically.
The job market has been tough for a while, but this situation also reminded me how supportive my current company is. The main downside is the salary. There is an opportunity for me to progress and earn more, but the raises usually come in very small increments.
I'm not looking for any specific advice, to be honest. I just needed to get this off my chest and stop sitting around feeling miserable about it.

Hello,
I'm sorry if this is stupid, I'm just panicking. There's a firm that has been my dream place to intern at for a while now. They closed applications for 2027 off-cycle internships a few days ago, but I want to apply for a summer one. Would it be stupid for me to email them to ask when summer internship applications would open just so I could be prepared? The email would be something like this:
"Dear Recruitment Team,
I hope this finds you well.
I am keen on working for X and wanted to please ask when summer 2027 internship applications are expected to open.
I am planning ahead and really just want to ensure I am prepared and that I do not by any chance miss the opening date.
I would understand if divulging the timeline is not feasible; I just thought to ask.
Thank you and hope to hear from you.
Best regards,
Candidate"
I really just wanna know when applications open but I also don't wanna be annoying and risk scaring them away with this email to the point where they will auto-reject me when I apply. They are a firm employing about 50 people across 4 offices.
Should I just leave it? Should I send the email? Thank you.

Hey guys, I'm having some concerns regarding me getting a internship next summer and i guess i just wanted some advice.
For some context I am a second year student a non target university looking to get a internship for next summer as a analyst and my worries stem from my lack of experience in the finance field, as of right now i have none. I am predicted to graduate with a 2:1 and the only bit of experience i have ( if you can call it that) is having the best KPI's in Q1 at a retail job back in 2025.
Now i know that its common for a lot of other students at my stage to not have experience as well, but im just a little worried i wont be taken seriously.

Does december(1 month) internships exist for undergraduate cse students?
r/internships • u/Appropriate_Count781 • 12h ago
bhai pls help 😭
I’m a 7th sem CSE student from a tier 2 clg, 6.16 cgpa and tbh I’ve wasted a lot of time. I have basically 0 skills and no proper experience.
I really need a winter internship and I have around 2 months. If you were in my place, how would you start from literally 0 and try to get an internship in these 2 months?
Like what would you learn first, what domain would you choose, what projects would you make and where/how would you apply?
Just started DSA
I’m ready to put in the work, I just have no idea where to start bro 😭

I never thought I would be writing a post like this.
I joined an AIESEC exchange in Turkey expecting an international work experience. I knew moving to another country wouldn't always be easy, but I believed there was an organization behind the program that would support me if something seriously went wrong.
I was wrong.
I paid USD 650 for the exchange. The opportunity included a paid internship and accommodation, among other conditions.
I'm now in Turkey, thousands of kilometers away from home, with two months of unpaid salary and approximately USD 44 left to cover my expenses.
And the part that frustrates me the most?
I have been asking AIESEC for help for months.
🚩 It started with the host company
The company I was placed with started experiencing serious financial problems.
Employees weren't receiving their salaries on time. Some were receiving only part of their salary, while other payments remained overdue.
Management wasn't providing clear answers either.
I contacted AIESEC as early as June because I was already concerned about the situation. I explained that the company was struggling financially, that employees weren't being paid properly, that people were being dismissed, and that I was worried about my own financial situation and work authorization.
I wasn't asking AIESEC to fix the company's finances.
I was asking them:
"What am I supposed to do if my host company cannot pay me?"
🚨 Then I stopped getting paid
Eventually, I reached two full months without receiving my salary.
Meanwhile, the situation at the company continued deteriorating.
My direct supervisors resigned. Management wasn't giving me clear information about my unpaid salary. I was still expected to continue working.
And I was running out of money.
By September, I had approximately 2,000 TRY (around USD 44) left.
I'm a foreigner living abroad. I don't have family financial support here. I relocated specifically for this exchange and was relying on the salary and accommodation that were part of the conditions I accepted.
At this point, staying in Turkey without a solution was becoming financially unsustainable.
🫰🏼But there was something else
During my conversations with AIESEC, I was told that if my host company failed to pay me for two consecutive months, the company/AIESEC would cover those unpaid months and my flight home.
Well...
That condition has now happened. Two months unpaid.
So I formally asked AIESEC to honor what had been communicated to me and arrange:
- payment of the two unpaid months;
- my flight home;
- immediate assistance while everything is being arranged;
- and a clear written explanation of what they intend to do.
I also reminded them that I paid USD 650 for this exchange, partly with the expectation that I would have support throughout the experience.
Note: I’m still waiting for answers about this.
🗣️ So what exactly am I angry about?
Honestly?
Not even the fact that the company failed.
Companies have financial problems. Employers fail. Internships don't always go according to plan.
What I find unacceptable is what happened after I asked for help to a service that I paid for.
When I signed up for an international exchange, I understood that I was responsible for adapting to a new country, workplace and culture.
But I did not expect that if my employer stopped paying me, I would essentially have to figure everything out myself while living thousands of kilometers from home.
I've sent WhatsApp messages.
I've sent emails.
I've explained the situation repeatedly.
I've escalated the matter to different AIESEC contacts.
And yet I still haven't received the concrete solution I have been asking for.
At some point, "we're looking into it" stops being enough.

Sharing three Rubrik internship, I came across for 2027 graduates. All three are on-site roles.
1. ENG Project/Program Intern — Bangalore
2. Software Engineer (CPD) — Pune
3. Software Engineer Winter Intern — Rubrik
Deadline: Not specified in the listings.
The first two have the same eligibility criteria, so 2027 Circuital-branch students with 8+ CGPA may want to check these out.
