I don't know about "fearlessly" (poor momma is probably seeing life flash before her eyes, but she's super courageous to stand her ground like that against what must feel like an alien gigantic machine.
Kudos to her and the driver. We can coexist without being needlessly cruel. There can be balance.

Yes I thought that it was pretty close at first, but by keeping on track rather than going around they've minimised the amount of land not being cultivated while still protecting the bird

That's a tero (Vanellus chilensis). Very common in South America. Those fuckers are quite territorial and annoying when you have to walk near them, they don't have any problem in attacking other animals (humans included). Local farmers have a tradition of respecting their nests so they stop and relocate the eggs before working the ground with heavy equipment. That's always an adventure lol. If it happens that you rescue a stray one you can rise it and it won't leave your house for it's entire life.

Nah. It’s beautiful to see how much animals love their kids and will protect them against anything. Me bringing up that humans are celebrated online for doing the exact opposite doesn’t make me radicalized. I know that a lot of people are against it, I’m not saying that EVERYONE is celebrating her.
