MISC. A jar of beetroot leaked in the fridge and it looks like a Kubrick movie

That is a well lit fridge if I ever saw one. That's the kind of fridge you just want to see random happenings every time you open it. Mini figurines looking like they're rearranging your fridge. Jars of facehugger specimens. Boxes wrapped up to look like birthday presents but very ominous. Sci-fi doodads to make the fridge look like some kind of science lab on a spaceship.
I can't get over how bright it is in that fridge. It's like nothing can ever cast a shadow.

How to achieve such a white fridge: 1. Take a photo, go to Edit 2. Saturation: -10% 3. Temperature: -5% 4. Highlights: +10% 5. Exposure: +5%

I’m imaging this is right at the bottom with a drawer taken out, so usually the drawer protects any food or dust or dirt getting back there.
My first thought was the basement in Severance for some reason.

Thankfully our new fridge interior isn’t white. It looks so much cleaner than white and more psychologically appealing.
Put another way, white fridges with harsh light feel like I’m inside a Walmart, which also happens to match the interior aesthetics of a prison.

Ya almost like it was set up for this exact photo to occur.
Oh wait, that's what happened. This image has been around for years. Would've been just as content if they just said "this image of beet juice looks like..." Instead of making up a story.
Good ol reddit.

Actually... it kinda looks like TWO Kubrick movies at the same time...

I saw a very similar post a year ago….

Because it’s an old photo from 2019. I used to see this shit all over Tumblr on aesthetic blogs during the early 2020s. Original post: https://xcancel.com/bushontheradio/status/1187311348658704384

What’s hilarious is I opened this post thinking it was in fact a scene from a Kubrick movie

Aw, you missed the opportunity to shoot this image in a one point perspective making it truly Kubrickian.

The lighting is doing at least half the work here. If it was dimmer I'd probably do a double take

Getting serious "opening shot before everything goes horribly wrong" vibes from this

At first glance, I thought this was from the Narkina 5 prison complex in the Andor series.

Broski, the fridge being that clean looks like something out of a Kubrick movie 😂
•
•
u/ProgNerIte Aug 05 '26
I didn’t even think this was a fridge until I read the title. Felt it was meant to be the aftermath of an alien killing someone in a vent and the blood dripped out

•
u/punktualPorcupine Aug 05 '26
Yeah… beatroot. >.>
