Partner ran into garage

Post image

As titled suggests, partner ran ever so slightly into the garage and the picture is the result. Going to be selling in the next year and not even sure who to contact to fix this? or does it have to be replaced? Door works perfectly fine. TIA

That’s a replacement. Hopefully you will be lucky and it’s just panels

Is it a thick panel or is it just a metal sheet? If it's just a metal sheet, I'd be tempted to push a bit on the other side to see how much you can pop out.

If it's functional but not perfect, you can choose to fix it before selling or just put "cosmetic damage to garage door" on the condition disclose.

Just be proud that someone of that size can run at all

Bests thing to do is replace the partner. 😂

You'd contact a garage door repair company if you decide to replace the door panel.

That's the replacement I was thinking! 🤣

I’ve done that to my garage door. Mine had to be bent back into shape but it was functional after that. I just called a local garage repair company. My door was one of the thicker ones so the service guy told me I’ll have to replace it sometime but it will work for now. Getting the rear end of the car repaired was more expensive than the garage door.

Homeowners insurance or sell as is. Plenty of places specialize in garage door repair. I wouldn't get it fixed until right before you sell in case it happens again.

I would not contact homeowners insurance for this. Catastrophic losses only.
