Hiring | Growth Specialist, US Home Services Marketplace (Night Shift, US Hours)

What we are building

We are an early stage US startup building a marketplace that connects American homeowners with licensed local contractors. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC, roofers, remodelers, and the rest of the trades.

The difference between us and the incumbents matters, so here it is plainly. Companies like Angi and Thumbtack sell the same lead to five contractors and take payment up front, which is why contractors resent them. We do not sell leads. Homeowners post a job, get free quotes, and pay one milestone at a time into escrow, releasing each stage only after they approve the completed work. Contractors join free, quote only the jobs they want, and get paid through Stripe when a stage is approved.

Our iOS app and web platform are live. Identity verification, state license checks, insurance certificates, milestone escrow, disputes, and in-app messaging are all built and working.

What we do not have yet is a market. That is this role.

The job

You are our first non-technical hire and you own launch. Your job is to fill one US metro with active contractors, get homeowners posting jobs, and turn that into completed, paid work.

Roughly how your week will split:

Contractor outreach and activation (about 60% of your time) Build target lists from state license boards, Google Maps, and local trade groups. Cold call and text contractors. Walk them through signup, Stripe onboarding, and insurance upload, because they will drop off at every step if nobody holds their hand. Follow up with the ones who go quiet. Get them to submit their first quote.

Homeowner demand (about 25%) Local Facebook groups, Nextdoor, Reddit, and community pages in our launch ZIP codes. Small paid tests. Getting real homeowners to post real jobs.

Channels (about 15%) Own our social channels and scheduling. This is not a content creation role. You decide what goes out, when, and to whom, and our team produces it. You are not making graphics in Canva all day.

You plan it, we build it

We are an engineering team. Everything technical is handled on our side, so the only thing you need to bring is the idea and the plan.

Graphics, video, ad creative, landing pages, email and SMS sequences, scrapers to build your contractor lists, dashboards, CRM setup, automated follow-ups, AI voice and chat tooling. If you can describe what you want and why it will move one of our four numbers, we will build it and hand it back to you working.

That means you are never blocked waiting on a designer, and you never lose a week to manual busywork. Tell us what you need and it gets automated. Your time goes into strategy, conversations with contractors, and closing.

We are looking for someone who takes this seriously as an unfair advantage. The right person will show up with far more ideas than a normal marketer could ever execute, because normally you would be the bottleneck. Here you are not.

How we will measure you

Not followers. Not posts published. These four numbers:

Verified contractors onboarded in the launch metro
Percentage who have submitted at least one quote
Median time from a job being posted to its first quote
Jobs completed and paid

Who we are looking for

5+ years in outbound sales, partnerships, or growth. B2B or BPO outbound both count.
Real experience calling US-based businesses. You are comfortable on the phone with a 55 year old roofing contractor who has been burned by lead-gen companies before.
Clear, natural written and spoken English. Not perfect, but natural.
Organized enough to run a pipeline of hundreds of contacts without dropping follow-ups.
Self-directed. You will be working while our founder sleeps for part of your shift.
Genuinely fine with the night schedule. Please do not apply hoping it will change.

Nice to have: experience with home services, construction, field service software (ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber), or a marketplace or two-sided platform.

This is not a fit if

You are currently juggling several clients. We are asking for this to be your one commitment. Night shift is hard on the body and nobody does it well while servicing three other accounts in the daytime. Ten hours in a day is realistically the ceiling for anyone, and we would rather you sleep than stack contracts. If you already have a full roster, please leave this one for someone who can give it their full attention.
You want a content creation or graphic design role
You want warm inbound leads handed to you
You have only done social media management
You need a fully documented playbook on day one. We will give you direction and targets, but you will be figuring out a lot of it with us.

Why this is worth your time

You get a full engineering and AI team executing your ideas, which is not something most marketers ever get. You will be the person who launched a market. If you hit the targets in five months, this becomes a longer engagement with expanded scope, and you will have a story almost nobody in the local job market can tell.
