Why can’t we download attachments in comments on iOS yet?
Self explanatory title. We have that feature on android, we can easily download on the desktop web version and the iOS web version, but we can’t download any attachments on the iOS app. Seems easy enough to add in the grand scheme of things, and it would save a lot of time compared to either screenshotting and cropping or opening the comment on the web version.
Is it as simple as ‘long-press and save’? Or is there a separate download button given that long press usually collapses the comment?
Desktop is different since right-click menu is driven by the browser engine and unless that is disabled site-wide there’s no stopping that functionality.
Do you mean if I tap on a comment which has an image in it, it would “open” as a main post image opens?
How would you save or download it then on Android?
I’ve never used Android but the code base & functionality should not be hugely different from iOS so I’m trying to understand how that functionality works there?
Yeah, that’s what I mean, opening it. Couldn’t find the word. And you save it like saving an attachment on the main post. I do think the app is slightly different on android though, as I don’t think it’s a web app. It integrates Liquid Glass unlike youtube, and the weird rounded corners of the For You/Following switcher at the top of the screen don’t seem to be present on android from an image I’ve seen.
