This “tip” worse than no tip

Post image

Don’t get me wrong - Can’t stand a person who don’t tip. Only time I ever get one of those is when I get a solid dual order and one ends being a huge tip, while the other is $0…

That said, this 25 cent tip is a first. Somebody actually had this bright idea pop into their head. Then they typed the BS into their phone

This isn’t the 1920’s.. guess that’s why my offer commitments like 20% 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’m not even looking at the tip. The $ is less than the miles which is a decline.

u/Letsgetitaesthetic 2d ago

Of course - I declined it

Just pointing out the “tip” that somebody ended up getting

I dont touch orders unless the pay is, at minimum, double the miles

Thankfully the area I’m in is pretty solid. This was a few deliveries after this shit one

I miss these kinds of orders, and not just in GH, on all the apps. You’d think people would be slightly more generous given that they don’t have to spend expensive gas to drive to the restaurants.

Damn I deliver the same area

When someone would tip like this (back when I delivered pizza), I dropped the change in front of their door as they closed it.

There was one guy who consistently tipped 25c. I made sure to have quarters on me when I saw his order come up; I'd drop a quarter on his doormat as he closed the door.

lol nice

Good idea, I like that

I never take these types of orders but I will take a good dual order and sometimes it’s one great tip combined with one no/little tip. Next time ima leave that shit on their porch

As someone that delivers in that area all the time I feel your pain lol

On DoorDash a few weeks ago, I had this absolute doozy of a tip:

It was for the same customer who lived not that far, but I was in between them and both places I had to go to, one was a pick up at a deli and then I had to go to the supermarket for a gallon of milk. Check out the tip for each pick up. 😂who T F tips .35¢⁉️this isn’t 1955

u/Letsgetitaesthetic 1d ago

Sheesh yeah that’s an insult

Easier to just hit no tip, 35 cents is literally a middle finger emoji

u/Radiant_Award_7589 1d ago

Ay we got the same delivery zone

u/Cloutian 1d ago

Neat, I haven't been driving for about a week and tup was added to the UI. Ultimately doesn't matter but still neat.

On topic: I agree the manual addition of that amount is disrespectful.

I’ve got Tips of A PENNY, A Nickel, A Dime and A Quarter!!! Plus .50 and .75!!!

Then another one that was .50 and guy changed it to $5.

u/thickerthanink 1d ago

What a douchebag

u/No_Marionberry173 1d ago

My wife got a $0.01 tip the other day.

u/Greedirl 1d ago

It's $7.77. You hit the jackpot. . .

u/Cautious-Age4997 1d ago

I got a 1-cent tip 3 times. Two times by the same person. The driver is not your enemy. You think that's fun? Human scumbag. Nothing is better than 1 cent.

u/pdubby1964 10h ago

Why does a Travis Tritt song come to mind?!

u/Staciex327 2d ago

Nah 1 penny is worse than

u/Letsgetitaesthetic 2d ago

Def

But I’ve never had a penny “tip”

u/Tiktokbadsupport 2d ago

if 1000 people tip nothing instead of $0.25 you would miss out on $250

u/Letsgetitaesthetic 2d ago

Irrelevant since.. I’m not taking the $0.25 cent order or the $0.00

But to play along, you said a THOUSAND orders lol $250 for a thousand orders is like the gas station who will give you a penny off each gallon if you sign up for their card

Sure once I fill up my tank 1000 times I’ll have saved 72 cents. Great!

I’m good..

u/Wizzle_Pizzle_420 2d ago

Naw dude. Don’t tip if you want, it’s whatever, but this is a slap in the face for no reason. It’s trashy and only low tier people would even consider it.

u/rjlawrencejr 2d ago

The issue would how long does it take an average driver to amass 1000 deliveries? Individual drivers don’t nearly have enough for the micropayments to become significant income.

u/Hiiihiihi 2d ago

That's the best tip I've ever seen I'll be so grateful to take an order like that

u/Slytherin23 2d ago

That's 3.3% of the pay. 33 of these orders and it's like you got paid for a bonus order.

u/rjlawrencejr 2d ago edited 1d ago

But how long does it take most drinkers drivers to accumulate 33 completed deliveries?

u/Slytherin23 1d ago

After 10 drinks, most drinkers pass out, so it might take awhile.

u/rjlawrencejr 1d ago

lol, there’s a select few that do handle their liquor well.

u/Letsgetitaesthetic 1d ago

Must be satire

F all that

u/robrichard426 2d ago

I have 4 customers down here in Arkansas who will text me directly before they order anything to see if I'm online and give me a heads up where they're going to order from. It's nice to have this arrangement.

I hope you can find something with a preferred driver that works for you!

Do a few meet at door deliveries and pick one you like.

u/ConsistentTravel782 1d ago

I have 3 that do that. I am in New Orleans. One Customer Always orders Beer n Cat food n the store never has Cat food. She knows I have Cats. So she texts me to see if I am online and I bring her Cat food.

She Tips good and is Fun to talk to. My other 2 customers are actually Friends that text to see if I am online.

u/Swirlerrr 1d ago

Also how do I access or do the meet at door delivers? Like is it an option ?

u/ConsistentTravel782 1d ago

On Uber Eats: there r options to Leave at door or Meet driver. I love meet at door orders cause I love meeting people. But in NOLA about 85% are Drop at the door. Sometimes the Reactions people do when they see my Treat bags. Like they r SHOCKED.

But I can’t stand people ordering leave at door for HOT FOOD and not paying attention to the Arrival. Then Food gets Cold and we get Blamed.

u/Swirlerrr 1d ago

I didn’t know they have that option and that’s just terrible! I wouldn’t do that if the food would be cold and didn’t sit on the ground too, so that’s another terrible thing but don’t worry I didn’t even know you can meet the delivery driver at the door with the instructions I’ll be giving and then the tips it should be even easier for them! 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹🧎🏽
