Question: What to do about ball prongs on side

Hey everyone! I hope this is an okay post to make here, I thought since you are experts on the topic and maybe have seen an issue like this before you might know what to do.

I got engaged last week and after wearing my ring for a couple days I noticed that the ball prongs on both sides that hold the tiny diamons are rubbing against my other fingers quite a lot (which hurts). The prongs are quite raised. Do you know if it is possible to shave the prongs down a bit without risk of loosing the diamonds? Or would it be possible to completely remove the diamonds and just keep the band a bit more simple.

EDIT: In case thats relevant- the ring is 14 carat white gold

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance :)

It seems to have extra bulk that might be shaved without hurting the setting, but it can only be determined with a closer look of the setter. They might also open the setting, deepen the gems 'sit', and reset.
Have you had it reset already?

no not yet, I haven't had the time. To be honest the issue wasn't as prevalent as I expected it to be and the rubbing isn't as bad. Still want to get it looked at eventually. Thank you for your input

A good jeweler will be able to take a closer look and set them lower if possible. A big problem with companies that just hire designers and send out their work is that problems like this aren’t considered when making a ring. Happy to help if needed, but I encourage supporting local businesses if trusted and possible.
