Context: Hasan fan whose take I shared here a few months ago found my post somehow and decided to confront me. Tried to reason with them but here’s the results of that argument. My god, these people are fucking brainwashed by that POS. It be hilarious if they didn’t have so much power over this site.

They’ve lived in Australia for 20+ years, refuse to learn English, and completely reject local news. Instead, they consume endless Chinese state media and sketchy YouTube "health" channels. They call everyone else "lao wai," trust anything coming out of China, and treat any other media like poison.

That blind trust just cost them $60,000 for a pair of plastic "AI Chinese glasses". Meanwhile, their sketchy health channels are doing nothing for them; both are well over 130 kilos and growing by the day.

As a college CS major, it’s maddening that they won't listen to a single word I say about online safety or tech literacy. I am exhausted trying to protect them from themselves.

I know its asking for too much to ask them to realize that the CCP might not be as great as they think, but, is there a way to maybe make them realize getting scammed is their own fault? And that Chinese products aren't known for their quality?

I know asking them to see through the CCP propaganda is a lost cause, but is there any way to break through their cognitive dissonance so they realize why they're getting scammed, and that "Made in China" doesn't automatically mean high quality or high-tech?
