I see this has been an ongoing issue for years. But has anyone found a solution? And does anyone know why my line annotations aren’t visible when not in annotation mode?

Hi! I'm having so much trouble using this app!!! I just imported a bunch of scores for a choral concert. I created a setlist. I can't find my setlists. I can't ensure I have saved the scores to the setlist. I can't really get to a home screen. Can someone help me?

If you don't use one, please share what's your experience like. I'm personally not using one, since I'm still mostly on paper, but I imagine, it would be cumbersome without AP. So should I get one if I want to take my scores to the next level? or are there ways to make the most out of other instruments, so I won't need AP?

So, I've got a big folder of 2700+ individual PDFs that I use for wedding gigs, and I was trying to upload it all at once to Forscore so that I can maybe start working on preparing playlists directly in the app. But I can't get Forscore to actually upload everything at once, and I cannot figure out any pattern to what files get ignored. I'll select one file, then hit the select all button. If I sort the files differently, by size/date/name etc, I seem to get a few more files every time but I still can't get it to upload them all. Any tips? Is there a hard limit to files that I'm not aware of?

Along the same lines, I also noticed something weird today - when I switched the view from Icons to List when selecting from Files, it glitches when I try to select all and just closes the file-opening window entirely. Or sometimes, it'll refresh but remove the selection dot on every file and forces me to select just one PDF at a time. So confused - is this an iPad issue or Forscore?

just randomly started wondering: why do we have both a ruler and shapes, when a line shape can basically do what the ruler does? am I missing something obvious here?

do y'all reach for the ruler for anything specific, or do you mostly just use shapes instead?

genuinely curious about your workflow with these two, they feel so similar and interchangeable to me, am I the only one who thinks that?

Hey, I'm new to the software, I've been using paper until now, cause literally my songs were like 2 sheets long, but I do want to move to more advances scores and have my library in one place, so I noticed this features in forScore and curious about them. forScore has both bookmarks and links functionality, I'm really eager to hear what do use each for to make the most out of it?

Edit Aug 25, 2026: SOLVED! I contacted support and got a link to an article about "smart sorting". I turned that off & now it sorts as I expected it to.

Hi, in my list of setlists, I have chosen to sort them by title, which I assumed meant alphabetically. For some reason, it has put 20261219-DAN & 20261224-Bethany above 20261017-30th. (see attached screenshot)

Shouldn't 202610xx come before 202612xx?

Sidenote: when I change "30th" to "Thirtieth", it sorts things correctly. What???

I've had a lot of problems with sync over the years. I decided to give it another try. I had different score counts on my different devices, so I created a metadata csv file from each of them, through the backup menu. I then had Gemini analyse the metadata files, and it immediately found the errant files - usually duplicated bookmarks. Once I'd curated the exceptions - all syncing well.

Also, I used gemini to create a script using python, to scan and index my various compendium pdfs, which has worked really well.

If you are happy to work with terminal and AI it's a really useful combination.

Yesterday during a rehearsal my annotating started misbehaving, not changing tools when I told it to — I think because my pencil’s battery was almost dead. But as it was doing that this gray box also appeared. At first it seemed to be behind or part of the annotations toolbox, but I can drag it up and down the screen independently. It’s only visible when the toolbox is open, and it’s there in all scores.

What is it and how do I make it go away?

I’m having an issue with Forscore that music doesn’t fit to the screen. It works when looking at a pdf, but not when using Forscore. It seems like it’s a mode issue, but when I try to change the mode I can’t find the icon to do so. For reference, it is a 6th gen iPad with a 17.7.10 version. It makes it hard when using it in rehearsals..

I’m having the opportunity tu buy for a low price an airturn bt 200. But I read that there were big compatibility issue with this product with ipadOS 26.

according to the airturn site, these problem are solved since march 2026. Is there someone here that could confirm this to me? Will in your opinion be other issue with this pedal in ipadOS 27?

Seems like there should be a way to do this but I can’t see a way to find what setlists a given song is included in….

I can’t figure out how to stop the edges of this PDF from being cut off. When I tap the screen to access the menu it zooms out and I can see the whole thing, but when I go into view mode, the edges disappear again. (See attached photos.) Sorry, newbie here!

I'm currently bowing Beethoven 6 for an upcoming concert, and the parts I was given are dreadful. Maybe it's how the part was scanned, I don't know...but as always, I use the white pencil in ForScore to "erase" anything in the PDF that needs cleaning.

But...recently I'm finding that the app freezes after a heavy annotation (lots of white on one page), and sometimes the annotations themselves will straight up disappear. To fix it, I have to go back into annotation mode and they reappear, but I have to do that a total of three times before they "stick".

Is anyone else having this issue? Both iPad and ForScore are on the latest versions and I'm about to start looking for another app. I've been using ForScore in performance since the app came out, and I also pay for premium...but the current state of the app is ridiculous for heavy use.

I am not into tech and I'm really impatient with this scanning process. I am trying to scan large piano/vocal songbooks but it seems there is a 24-page limit, meaning I will have to upload the book in parts (part 1, part 2, part 3 etc.)? Is there a better way?

Hi Folks. I'm using forScore 15.1.2 on an iPad, and I tried downloading a .png file from Dropbox (cloud services) to put it in a set list. However, unlike .pdf files (which is what I normally work with), the two .png files do not show up in "All Scores" when I try to add them to a setlist. But they are present because: 1) re-importing from Dropbox shows the overwrite option, and 2) they show up in the iOS Files app. After a little research it seems forScore uses images for something other than setlists (pdf markup?) OK, fine, but how do I delete those .png files? The iOS Files app doesn't let me delete, and I don't see a file manager in foreScore. Thanks!

I recently got a new iPad and am finding that not all my music in forScore came over to the new device. I'm curious why this happened -- but more importantly, is there any way I can retrieve my "lost" scores? Some had a lot of markings that will be nearly impossible to recreate.
