We know that DiMA has to delete certain memories to free up memory space. We also know he deletes the memories of his contingencies for Far Harbor, the Nucleus, and the whole "Avery" thing.

What I'm wandering how far that goes?

He considers Confessor Martin a dear friend, and a "good man," that the Children of Atom only turned nasty after his passing.

However, from Old Longfellow's story, we know that on at least one occasion, the Children kidnapped someone to induct into their cult which is ... I mean honestly, if they make a habit of things, then Allen's stance on them is utterly justified. And considering how far back that was, it couldn't have happened under the current High Confessor.

DiMA, on the other hand, seems to consider Martin an excellent person.

I mean, it could just be that he didn't learn about it ... but considering what we know about DiMA's memory habits, it feels a bit suspicious. Not to mention how many other memories he might have offloaded without saving them on external memory banks.

The first time i was just updating all my creation club content, creations to do a new game, and all 5 of the corrupted saves suddenly started working again

For some reason every time a get "corrupt save" notice i update all the cc, official creations, and any active mods

and the game lives

I THINK I saw it work on my SteamDeck too...

I don't sit at my PC to play games...

Is the creations section completely broken for anyone else in 2026? I've been trying to get in there for weeks now, only to be booted straight out again, getting the same old message about the Bethesda servers tried most of the ways to try & remedy this, but to no avail no matter what I try it never works should I just cut my losses & move on from this?

Hi Again! I've just released my new mod Lord Kugenheim's Modular Militia Hats for Fallout 4 on PC which is a big expansion of the vanilla Militia and Minutemen Hats! It always bugged me how basic the minutemen hats were (and how Preston fully monopolies 50% of the hats), so now you can mix and match colours, accessory and hat-band for over 190 combinations. Even better most of them actually go together!

This random settler walking past CC said only "huh?" And "yes?" when I tried to interact, so I used holding a rifle to scoot him into the settlement boundary and workshop ordered him to farm mutfruit, which added him to my settler count. I knew I could, that's not surprising, but what is surprising is how the "move" option is grayed out for him like the original 2.

At that point, I'd basically only tossed up a couple turrets and a small shack with 2 better beds, and scrapped the original 2 mattresses, so it said I was short a bed. I know there are 3 separate settlers and all 3 of them can't be moved from county crossing. I'm not looking to move him but it's weird, why would he become permanent?

Finally played this game.

I blasted through the main story as I wanted to find shaun. Then I was genuinely disappointed at what he became and quite deflated by the story overall. I read everyone's take on it and agreed with the general negativity.

Then I realised my next steps , I was truly role-playing. I took to the wasteland, killed things did quests helped people. I was a bit broken and aimless.

After many many hours i was then given the mission to find the girl at far harbour ( im half way through it now).

I dont know whether they intended this but I feel this is the perfect order to play the game. Finding her has become my goal and mission. I failed in saving my wife and son but I won't fail in finding her.

Feels like it makes the story work? I don't know what do you all think?

I never played the fallout games, but i watched a few videos about some of the games (mainly new vegas and 4). And one of those videos were the everything wrong with the guns of f4 made by ItsYaBoyBrandyBoy. And yeah from what i can see the gun look.. odd. What i wanna know is why is that the case? i mean the guns from the previous games were also kinda silly and weird but at least more normal. Im geniounely curios to know cause i dont think Bethesda just hates real guns like i heard some people say.

If anyone knows how to help I would be very grateful I’m doing the quest dangerous minds and when I sit in the memory lounger, nothing happens. I’m just in a blue blank space

I’ve tried google but maybe I’m bad at searching. Simply put, sometimes my character does a clean quick stabbing motion when attacking with a knife, and sometimes it does a wide arc slashing movement which is slower. I want to get back to doing the stabbing animation, but I can only do the slashing one. How can I change this?

Xbox, no mods, dont have the power train perk either.

Vendors in Diamond City sell 4-5 times as much .45 ammo as 10mm, which is weird given the 10mm pistol is supposed to be one of the most common prewar weapons still in use. Enemies also rarely seem to use 10mms and so don't drop the ammo. It makes a Deliverer/10mm pistol run annoying early on.

This might be a stupid and simple question. But I found this weapon drop on a legendary enemy when rescuing Valentine. No vender so far seems to sell the ammo.

i have hours on new vegas, im playing through fallout 2 for the first time and having a blast, im planning on doing a TTW fallout 3 run soon, but for some reason this game in particular i cant get by. “oh well this game has better mechanics then new vegas and better gunplay” and then i get in and the controls feel like 30 percent more stiffer. the perk system is also shying me away. i don’t want to spend hours playing and i can’t at the very least min max a little. why is leveling something like unarmed locked until later levels? i don’t want to uninstall because i know ill get a itch to play again but thinking about this game is better then playing it. how do i have fun playing it?

I still suck at character creation but at this version looks better. Also her name is Noralee a combo of the character’s name and the name of Dolly’s character in 9 to 5, Doralee.

I need help, looking for some kind of stability or performance mod to help reduce or fix crashing, I’m on Xbox and I’m getting a crash almost every 15minutes. I have mods loaded and I’m on survival so I don’t auto save.

This run I spent some time doing things I haven't done since my first one. This included examining everything I could about Kellogg, especially during the memory sequence; clicking on everyone to flesh out the story in more detail now that I had (I thought...) much more familiarity with the story. What I found out was surprising.

It was Father who is the "Old Man" mentioned by Kellogg in the narrative sequence, of course. Father had seemingly orchestrated the encounter between Kellogg and the player by having Kellogg stay at a prominent location - Diamond City - with the synth child Shaun - in order to be seen, and for no other purpose. Ellie Perkins and Nick Valentine mention he was with a ten year old boy, and the player has the option of speculating it was another kidnapped child. That's what piqued my interest in the first place - that given what I already knew from several completed runs, it made no sense at all that the child was actually Shaun, and therefore must have been the synth child. But why?

Then I took a dialogue option I usually didn't during my initial conversation with Father, specifically option 1 when asked if there were any questions he could answer for me. I asked about Kellogg's role at the Institute for the first time, and the response I got was astonishing: "I won't lie. It's no coincidence your path crossed his. It seemed a fitting way to allow you... us... to have some amount of revenge."

That Father set Kellogg up by placing him with the synth child, then unthawed the player in order to ensure a meeting and eventual killing of Kellogg seems entirely possible. He could have had a bunch of coursers lay a trap for him, or even arrange an 'accident' during a relay. But if he did expect the player to do the deed, once it was accomplished and revenge was served literally ice-cold, did he think the player would vanish into the wasteland, never reaching the Institute at all? He expresses astonishment that the player managed it in his first dialog with us during the elevator ride. Was naming the player as his successor a new goal, deciding that only once the player did indeed make it inside? Then why continue to send the player on dangerous missions into the Commonwealth and risk the succession?

I'm a bit (ok, a lot) frustrated that the game often won't allow me to ask the kinds of questions I really want to ask of the NPCs, but in this case especially. In my earlier runs, I always hated Shaun when he attempted to explain away the death of his other parent as 'regrettable' but not technically a murder. I now think I may have both under and overestimated him simultaneously, if that makes sense. Am I overthinking this?

Thanks for reading. I'm interested in anything I'm obviously missing that might set the story straighter than it is. Terminal entries I might look at to flesh this out more. Things got really complicated this time. :D
