Making a raider settlement complete with all versions of rust devil robots.
I have gotten most of the parts correct, but don't know the back armour/parts/panels when building Rust Devil robots - anyone has any ideas? Im sure there is a list out there (and yes I did check the wikis - but they have strength, etc - not actual armour/parts.

Hey everyone, longtime lurker here finally deciding to share a Red Rocket settlement build I’ve been working on! Playing on very hard with some standard mods (sim settlements 2, scrap everything, place anywhere, longer power lines, etc). I think I’ve got 70 hours or so in this playthrough, currently level 40ish.

This is my first ever full settlement build, just came back to the game a month ago. I’d say this is basically done, but need some of the building plots to level up still and may decorate the bar a little more. I’m not a big fan of placing a million tiny junk items as decoration that can just get knocked over by poor settler path finding or a settlement attack, so I try to make it look lived in but reasonably sparse. The sim settlement 2 plots being pre decorated is so clutch for this though—they look so great! This is my first time playing with sim settlements and cannot recommend it enough. It really adds a fun layer to the already rich FO4 sandbox.

Any suggestions or criticism is welcome and appreciated—my plan for this play through is to build up a few settlements like this one while also having a few resource farms with significantly less detail.

I’m also excited to finally try the far harbor and nuka world DLCs as I’ve never played them!

I thought now would be the perfect time to try out modding for fallout 4 for the first time, it just got an update for ps5 after all that makes mods better or something, i dont really know fully what it does but something like that. Anyway, i didnt know whag mods would be good, and if i remember from when my brother modded his on his xbox a long while ago, it kept crashing, so i wanted to be safe and use a recommended mod list from youtube instead, so i use one by this Cryptic or something. I install the mods i want from the recommended, only exluding the ones that add like feral ghouls and stuff, and im really enjoying it, particularly the Lunar fallout mod, that one im really enjoying. But then i get to downtown boston around swan, and it never even lagged around that area before for me, but now because of the mods, i cant even get close to the pond without crashing. I was just curious if anyone could help me figure out what mod is crashing it or perhaps recommend a mod to fix or something, anything to make it stop really. In the meantime i suppose i will just play modded skyrim for the first time.

They eventually despawn right? Should I take them out of the settlement (as she did die right outside)?

Vendors in Diamond City sell 4-5 times as much .45 ammo as 10mm, which is weird given the 10mm pistol is supposed to be one of the most common prewar weapons still in use. Enemies also rarely seem to use 10mms and so don't drop the ammo. It makes a Deliverer/10mm pistol run annoying early on.

If anyone knows how to help I would be very grateful I’m doing the quest dangerous minds and when I sit in the memory lounger, nothing happens. I’m just in a blue blank space

Recently been replaying fallout 4 for ps4 and I gotta say the back stories for some of these skeletons are interesting like the mayor at “ Boston Mayoral shelter” for instance never being able to actually have that conversation with his wife and kid…. Then there’s looking at how some of them are positioned which is really funny like the two skeletons doing a drug transaction in “Roxbury station subway” haha

The first time i was just updating all my creation club content, creations to do a new game, and all 5 of the corrupted saves suddenly started working again

For some reason every time a get "corrupt save" notice i update all the cc, official creations, and any active mods

and the game lives

I THINK I saw it work on my SteamDeck too...

I don't sit at my PC to play games...

Is the creations section completely broken for anyone else in 2026? I've been trying to get in there for weeks now, only to be booted straight out again, getting the same old message about the Bethesda servers tried most of the ways to try & remedy this, but to no avail no matter what I try it never works should I just cut my losses & move on from this?

This run I spent some time doing things I haven't done since my first one. This included examining everything I could about Kellogg, especially during the memory sequence; clicking on everyone to flesh out the story in more detail now that I had (I thought...) much more familiarity with the story. What I found out was surprising.

It was Father who is the "Old Man" mentioned by Kellogg in the narrative sequence, of course. Father had seemingly orchestrated the encounter between Kellogg and the player by having Kellogg stay at a prominent location - Diamond City - with the synth child Shaun - in order to be seen, and for no other purpose. Ellie Perkins and Nick Valentine mention he was with a ten year old boy, and the player has the option of speculating it was another kidnapped child. That's what piqued my interest in the first place - that given what I already knew from several completed runs, it made no sense at all that the child was actually Shaun, and therefore must have been the synth child. But why?

Then I took a dialogue option I usually didn't during my initial conversation with Father, specifically option 1 when asked if there were any questions he could answer for me. I asked about Kellogg's role at the Institute for the first time, and the response I got was astonishing: "I won't lie. It's no coincidence your path crossed his. It seemed a fitting way to allow you... us... to have some amount of revenge."

That Father set Kellogg up by placing him with the synth child, then unthawed the player in order to ensure a meeting and eventual killing of Kellogg seems entirely possible. He could have had a bunch of coursers lay a trap for him, or even arrange an 'accident' during a relay. But if he did expect the player to do the deed, once it was accomplished and revenge was served literally ice-cold, did he think the player would vanish into the wasteland, never reaching the Institute at all? He expresses astonishment that the player managed it in his first dialog with us during the elevator ride. Was naming the player as his successor a new goal, deciding that only once the player did indeed make it inside? Then why continue to send the player on dangerous missions into the Commonwealth and risk the succession?

I'm a bit (ok, a lot) frustrated that the game often won't allow me to ask the kinds of questions I really want to ask of the NPCs, but in this case especially. In my earlier runs, I always hated Shaun when he attempted to explain away the death of his other parent as 'regrettable' but not technically a murder. I now think I may have both under and overestimated him simultaneously, if that makes sense. Am I overthinking this?

Thanks for reading. I'm interested in anything I'm obviously missing that might set the story straighter than it is. Terminal entries I might look at to flesh this out more. Things got really complicated this time. :D

There’s plenty of options from military rags to the vault suit. Now that I unlocked ballistic weave, I’m curious what your favorite item to upgrade when wearing armor

I played start to finish the America Rising 2 mod. Here's my mod setup and what I think;

Mod is beautiful, it doesn't make more sense plot wise comparing to other factions (also not less; it is just same level) but it is more fulfilling and much more satisfying than the other 4. And by satisfying i mean the oil rig getting refurbished phase by phase and NPC's idle talk and population and... Jesus it is so beautiful and refreshing.

In my entire playthru, not just once it hiccupped. I didn't notice or came across a single bug. It worked perfectly. Kinda surprising. My vortex screen shot is below.

Voice Acting is as good as the game itself if not better. Amazing stuff. I don't think I can play the game now with any other faction :)))

My only wish is integration with Start Me Up Redux, so that i can play it with anything other than Nate/Nora.

The length is around/same with BoS alignment as some missions just reskinned BoS variations but more satisfying.

Even tho I had other mods I only initiated and make some progress with Depravity, and a quick peak at Fusion City. There was no issue at all; my pc config if anyone wonders; 16 GB ram, 245KF CPU, 3060 GPU. Game version is GOG 1.10.163 GOTY, no NG update.

Note that I disabled Start Me Up Redux fearing some incompatibilities. But didn't disable its prerequisites. I really really wanna try Just America Rising 2 (+Sweet Tooth, +Who's the General) vanilla run now. I couldn't get enough with one single run.

Final Verdict: 11/10 absolute recommendation.

I’ve tried google but maybe I’m bad at searching. Simply put, sometimes my character does a clean quick stabbing motion when attacking with a knife, and sometimes it does a wide arc slashing movement which is slower. I want to get back to doing the stabbing animation, but I can only do the slashing one. How can I change this?

Just started playing, game’s sick I love it but there is SOOOO much stuff, I feel confused

1 : The perk system

I get how it works but I don’t know what the smartest way is to build up your perks and speck them correctly. Are there established rules or trees I should follow or some classic ”templates” or paradigms for character builds

2 : Settlement building

How important is the settlement building and building in general. Should I build my own house or what, should I build defences for settlements, pls help

3 : Factions

How many factions are there, what’s good and what’s not. In my first playthrough now 7 hours in I joined the brotherhood of steel cos big dawg gave me a fire gun and had that ived out armor n all so I think that’s good but idk, youse know more so tell me
