Been working on the flor with my laptop for a few years but never had a proper setup. I have a small apartment so space is tight and hated having a big monitor on my kitchen table . Could not find anything on the market so me and ChatGPT designed this .

Cost me about $250-300 in total. It has wheels and tucks away pretty nicely. So far it been way better than I even thought super comfy on the floor with the keyboard tray. With the remote I can easily adjust to sit goes all they way down to 9”either in a chair , my stool , or even edge of my sofa

Right now the top is temporary melamine top. thinking I can cut it down a bit then I’ll get a nice walnut top to match my furniture.

Features : full sit 36” high to 9” low, remote control and controller . 330lbs capacity (base ), wheels that lock in place , keyboard tray .

If I wanted to get really fancy I’m sure you could add a big battery pack so it would not need to be plugged in or add a monitor arm, or dual monitors .

Not the usual floor desk! I like that this one can be tucked away in a corner and the storage space would probably work out well (I guess it depends on how well it's constructed) for keeping books or supplies...or cats.

Took a quick client call, grabbed supplies from the table drawers, and packaged up sales from the weekend, and my main working space was invaded. 20 mins away, tops. Not shown - the three other cats just out of frame, sniffing around a new pile of toys. Anyone else regularly sharing workspace on the floor with furry family members?

Another DIY floor desk. This one looks very similar to the IKEA Lack table but adjusting for best height is likely easier going the DIY route than it is cutting down an IKEA leg and marring the veneer. Probably sturdier, too.

A good reminder for anyone new to using a floor desk - sitting on the floor has many benefits but it is important to be mindful of your posture and move even when on the floor!

I've had this link saved for nearly a year now and trying to decide if I should take a stab at a DIY version. Does anyone have this desk from Muji? Do you know the dimensions?

Does anyone else have a desk that's portable? This one looks like it could be easy to travel with. The back board could be shortened and I could see this being a good candidate for use in hotels, but also painting/sketching/writing outdoors.

First, no one has done anything wrong that I am aware of. This post is meant to clarify what brigading is, how to avoid interfering in another subreddit, and what is permissible to talk about.

Brigading is explicitly forbidden on Reddit. You can see more about what Reddit considers as interference in another subreddit at this link.

In short, we need to respect our neighbors. Another community that discusses floor desks considers this smaller, older community to be a "duplicate" in competition with theirs and has updated the rules to include any mention in comments, posts, or DMs (inviting users to this community) of this community as a bannable offence. This is their prerogative.

I have removed my few comments linking this community in their posts and will not mention this subreddit within their community going forward - this is something I agreed to so that my own surprise ban would be lifted. You may or may not have noticed the new rule there but you need to be aware of it going forward, lest you end up with a ban.

Calls to action that interfere with that subreddit (like suggesting a coordinated attempt to link or mention this subreddit in their community) will be considered harassment and I will have to ban the user who suggests it. Users who reach out to that Mod Team to question their moderation policies may be seen as harassing or attempting to interfere and you must understand that you do so at your own risk of being actioned by Admin.

Examples of behavior that is considered interference and/or harassment by Admin are in the link above but are here for your convenience:

• Content that makes a call to action to interfere in another community.
  • “I got banned. Post this in r/Hedgehogs_On_Motorcycles and see if you get banned too.”
  • “I modmailed the r/Dalmatians_On_Yachts team to tell them they’re a bunch of losers. I encourage all of you to do the same.”

  • A redditor makes a post that brags about being banned from a community, and a mod adds a “Badge of Honor” flair to the post.
  • A mod uploads a community banner that contains harassing imagery of another community’s mod team.
• A community intended for harassment created by a redditor who is banned from your community.
  • “I got banned from r/Ants_Riding_On_Ferries, so I made r/Ants_Riding_On_Ferries_Mods_Suck. I also added a community description that states that we should go harass the mod team.”

Members of this community who have been banned or receive a ban in the future from the other subreddit are allowed to discuss their experience. Members of this community who have questions about the other community's new rule (as it has been explained and understood) and the consequences (again, as it has been explained and understood) are also allowed to discuss that here, but I am requiring that those discussions remain in this post.

Examples of what is permissible to talk about are in the link earlier, but this part is important to note: "Redditors are allowed to discuss the experiences they have on Reddit (provided they follow site policies when doing so)."
