Nursing watch latch came off, doesn't seem to fit back into place.

This part of the watch came off this morning, now it won't go back into place and so the watch won't stay on. I tried sliding it back into place but it won't go. I added a photo from google because my phone has decided to take photos like I'm using a potato today. Advice on how to get this back into place would be great.

portable AC started to suddenly vibrate and whine like crazy.

Upvotes

This spinning fan is the source (see video). This is an AIRO model #AC14MWS Anyone know how to fix it? The fan is clearly unbalanced. Maybe the bearing is going bad? 5 years old. The AC still blows cold air-- I am just afraid it's going to blow up/tear itself apart with all this vibrating https://youtube.com/shorts/_rKTHYNNPYg?feature=share

open Ideas to take this off easier? (Film from clear acrylic)

Pushing very hard here. 3mm clear acrylic. Stuff ya get from home depot. Been outside for a good minute. Film doesn't want to peel off. It's like it is part of the acrylic and wants to tear apart from itself more than come off the pane. I _*can*_ peel it off eventually, but there has got to be an easier and more efficient way than my fingernails or plastic blade.

Edit: here's what I've tried other than fingernails or plastic blade: Warm water, hot water, flame, heat gun. These all relatively help but surprisingly nowhere near what one might think and I need to move out of constant heat of course and fingers get hot holding the scraper and the heat dissipates quickly. Does not seem to make any adhesive "goo up" to peel off any better. Like if it were stuck tape, ya know.

Edit 2: this video was just to deliberately show how stubborn it is, not so much my "technique" lol. Just showing different ways it moves (or doesn't move) - I'm pushing pretty hard through that too. I was hoping someone had a magic "this one trick no one knows" kinda thing to maybe even dissolve the film or some jazz.

Best way to repair rip in the zipper of a suitcase

Post image
Upvotes

I have a hardshell suitcase with a rip in the fabric part where the zipper attaches. This leaves a hole in the bottom so stuff can fall out. Really don't want to get a new one since this one isn't that old :(

Whats the best way to fix this? Fabric glue (what brand is best?) Or heavy duty thread (I'm not too familiar with sewing but I will try)?

open Help me fix my grandma’s decorative plate stand

Hi everyone,

I hope one of you can give me a hand. My grandma recently gifted me a lovely gold-inlaid decorative plate, and it came with a small plastic display stand.

Sadly, the display stand broke in transit and is now in two parts. The plate is fine.

I’d love to glue the stand back together to display the plate, but I can’t figure out where the stand broke. I don’t have a picture of the stand pre-break.

If any of you can suggest how I should glue the stand back together, I’d really appreciate it!

Thank you!

Help with shower window

Post image
Upvotes

I need to figure out something to put over this window for privacy and to stop the wood from getting so wet and molding. It already is molding and the paint is off in the bottom right corner and if you don’t angle the water away from the window it gets totally drenched.
It’s also right outside of the fire escape so I need 100 percent privacy at night.

I added maybe some ideas but…
I’m trying to find a not ugly solution as well.. any and all tips greatly appreciated

Mouse Gnawed it nice

Hi, help me decide if I can get this wrapped with electical tape or heat-shrink? I so no crumbs of this wire ( gray and brown ). Thinking i might have cleaned it before and this has been exposed while i am using it. I am so shocked to find out that this was gnawed already while i saw the mouse creeping back to where it entered. Voilà! An exposed and dangerous wire. I taped it with e-tape and 3 techinicians I asked online says i can now use this but i am so afraid since this is an apartment im living. I do not want to risk it.

This screw on my bass clarinet is completely stripped, I tried using tape to fill the gap but it didn’t work. The screw is too tight and I need to loosen it.

open Noise from apartment wall.

I have been living in this apartment for around a year and I left for the summer for a few months. I came back and 1 week later this sound started from my bedroom wall which is insanely annoying and doesn't stop. It sounds like a metal ball rolling on the floor. Anyone knows what it is? It's not my neighbours above air compressor on the balcony and I tried turning the water pressure off to see if that was the issue but to no avail. It doesnt stop. I havent slept for 3 days

open Is a heavy duty extension cord really required for a frig?

Upvotes

Something is wrong with the kitchen fuse and idk how long it will take the ll to fix this time (when flipping it off/on it apparently came on for a second then back out) and the housemate with the long extension cord moved so I've had to order one. Just want to make sure a heavy duty is truly necessary since a 50 foot one is $$$.

Rather spend than risk fire. Thanks.

I messed up my flooring badly in a rental (over 10 years)

I'm moving and I need some help on how to sort of hide it for inspection, it doesn't need to be perfect, the landlords have let mold grow in the shower walls so I dont care about their opinion but I don't want to have to pay for a whole new floor. Any advice?

How do I put this tiny battery in? And is it missing any parts?

Thumbnail

I have a tiny light up Halloween pumpkin but I don't know how to get it to work. Obviously I insert the tiny disc battery in the silver cap and then screw that into the pumpkin. There is a slot on the side of the screw in cap...should that have a tiny toggle switch that slides for on/off? It didn't come with one. Also, when I drop the disk battery into the cap should the silver blank side of battery be face up in bottom or yellow square up in bottom? And finally, am I missing a spring or a metal piece that keeps the battery in position and for making contact?? Thanks in advance. See pics.

A glazing issue

My husband inherited this Birks barometer from an uncle. Unfortunately the glass facing didn't survive one of our many moves. I'm at a loss as to where to take this for repair. I would love to have it fixed and give to my husband as a Christmas gift.

I'm open to any suggestions.

open Lazyboy Recliner Rocking Noise

Upvotes

I have a Lazyboy Casey recliner I got a few years back for a nursery. Ever since I have had it, there has been a noise when the chair rocks back and forth. It sounds like metal on metal to me. I can also feel a vibration in the spring when I have the chair upside down and rock it manually with my finger in the spring. The noise comes from both left and right sides of the chair under the seat

I have tried lubricating the spring mechanism attached to the base with silicon spray multiple times, but the sound always returns.

When I first got it, Lazyboy wanted 100+ dollars to come out to look at it, which wasn’t worth it to me.

Wondering if anyone has had this before or knows how to fix it.

Thanks!
