how can i sew this rip in my jeans?

i recently sewed these jeans to make them lower waist, and the seams came undone so there is now a hole just below the zipper on one side. i REALLY love these jeans so any advice on how to sew/patch them would be great!!

Iron a patch from the inside with the hole closed, then sew stitching over the patch in a cross hatch pattern, and around the border.

This will not be an invisible mend, but it's by far the strongest way to do it in my experience that will outlast the rest of the jeans.

I always do a patch from an old pair of jeans inside.

Make the patch oversized by ~3/4". Stitch around the patch then zigzag stitch across the middle to keep that old jeans from fraying further.

Kind of a nightmare because of all the heavy/bunched material, but it's easy and you won't be able to see the repair much so it doesn't have to be perfect.

I know the correct answer is to patch them. But also have fun with it. Put some eyes there or similar material so it looks super intentional and will make them look high end instead of distressed.
