BankMobile is an absolute nightmare and just nuked my account right before my financial aid drop
I honestly need to vent or see if anyone else has dealt with this absolute joke of a company.
I’ve had a BankMobile account and hated every second of it. They have an option to change your refund preference to your actual preferred bank account, so I tried using it. The exact second I submitted it, they locked my account because they thought it was someone else trying to hack me.
Fine whatever. I called, waited on hold for like 4 hours, went through a million security checks, and finally got it unlocked.
Then I tried to change my preference again to get my money out of there, and boom same exact lock. And honestly, fuck me for trying one more time because they straight up deleted my account entirely. Hit me with the "too many security restrictions, we can't reopen your account."
Now the email I used for it won't even login, and I have zero clue how my financial aid refund is supposed to hit. I went to my college financial aid office and they just shrugged and told me "go talk to BankMobile." So I called BankMobile back and they deadass told me "we can't do anything".
How the hell do I fix this? Is my refund just lost in the void or what? If anyone has actually gotten out of this loop, please let me know because I'm losing my mind.

Financial aid office got back to me and said that my disbursement date for this semester is the week of October 5th… I need this money to buy book, supplies and everything else that the school requires you to buy that isn’t covered by tuition. I hate this

I’m a legacy grad plus borrower. I have fall and spring term before earning my doctoral degree. Each term at the doctoral level at my college is 16 weeks, thus no winter term.

I’m wondering how the proration will impact my loans as I’m only allowed to complete one course at a time at this point in my dissertation process. That being said, my course is only 3 credit hours, not six, which is considered full time at the graduate level within my college. Which makes no sense to me because I can only take the one course.

Right now my account reflects estimated aid at COA, but I believe with the OBBB that will likely change.

I feel like I’ve researched and am still not understanding how my loans will be impacted. Any guidance would be so appreciated! Currently they sit at estimated aid for term $14,326.

I have a question , my aid posted to my account Sept 3 and refund is set to be sent Sept 10 but one of my instructors dropped me from one of my classes leaving me with 3 classes 9 credit hours . the class is still on my schedule it just shows instructo withdrawl and 12 credit hours are still there. I received an email saying this: You have been withdrawn from the following course because your instructor indicated that you have missed the maximum hours of unexcused absences: This withdrawal will not remove your financial responsibility for this course. Please check your LoLA account to view your balance and registration status. If you feel the course has been removed in error please contact the instructor for the course.

does this mean I’ll still receive my full refund Sept 10 are will that change?

Apparently, UCSB financial aid gets disbursed to your account no earlier than 10 days before the first day of classes, which would be September 14th for us. However, our BARC balance is due September 15th.
I’m kind of scared that my aid might disburse later than expected or get delayed, especially since there’s such a short window between when the aid is supposed to hit and when our BARC balance is due. There’s no way I’d be able to pay off my balance without my financial aid, even with a payment plan, and I really don’t want to risk getting dropped from my classes.
Does anyone know what we’re supposed to do in this situation if our financial aid doesn’t hit BARC in time? Is there some kind of grace period or payment arrangement for students whose aid is delayed?

Hey guys, I am really stressed out because I just found out that I did not send in my gpa to CSAC on time. The deadlines for gpa verification were in early May and have long since passed.

For context on my situation, I only recently found out about this when I looked at my college tuition and found that my Cal Grant wasn't being accepted. On top of that, the last email I got from Cal Grants was in April talking about gpa verification. There were no emails after that updating me about my missing gpa.

I emailed high school counselor today and they said my gpa was sent out fall of my senior year. However, because I took a gap year and am no longer a recent student, my gpa wasn't sent out this year. Which makes sense, it's just really unfortunate for me. (They didn't tell me abt this info in senior year though.)

I talked to one of the people at CSAC. and they told me to fill out the gpa verification form with my counselor and send it in. I know this is technically my fault for not making sure my high school sent it out, but has anyone been in this situation before and have had their Cal Grant be rewarded back? I filled out the FASFA really early and on time, it's just my late gpa. If there is any advice, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

For last spring and summer I received a couple thousand now it's saying here that I'm only getting this amount. Which isn't nothing.. is it because Im only taking 4 units right now? My fall classes started on the 17th and a couple other ones don't start till September and October . I'm guessing this is why?

Due to today being Labor Day and my college (Lehman) had a stupid issue where they said they didn’t have my highschool diploma and my fafsa refund from my loans was not disbursed due to a hold which is stupid I did my bachelors in John jay and going to Lehman now but whatever. Will it be possible for my fafsa to disburse tomorrow and get a refund Friday? Or will it be like in the past with John Jay where if it was a holiday I would have to wait the whole next week? Cause if so then cuny fucking sucks

I am in the process of submitting a SAP appeal. Class is already in session and past the drop date. I want to know if the financial aid office will look at my grades to see if I'm already doing better than last year? I'm struggling and working to get caught up and I don't want my grades to affect whether my appeal is approved or not as I cannot afford to pay out of pocket for tuition or a withdraw. I also cannot work right now due to health issues that would make maintaining employment nearly impossible.

Hey Has anyone having a delay on their financial aid? I have applied 3 weeks ago and i haven’t heard or received anything about it yet, I asked my counselor, he said it’s processing on the school end but I was told it shouldn’t take long and I still haven’t received anything yet as well I’m wondering will I get anything back because I need to pay for school supplies and all. I just started my masters in counselling at Yorkville University and although I’ve paid for this month, I’m waiting on a grant and am unsure of if it will be available by the next month. Has anyone paid for tuition late? What are the repercussions? I saw one post where they said they paid late and that nothing happened. Is this accurate?

So I just noticed on my account it is -1752 on my summer balance when I look on there it says direct unsub loan 9/4/2026 1241 I'm so confused do the school owe me that or do I owe I'm so lost
