Science My new cannabis journaling app went live today.
got tired of buying a jar, loving it, then never remembering what was actually in it or why it worked. THC % tells me basically nothing , it’s all the terps.
so I made TerpTracer. you scan the label, it pulls the terpene profile, you log the sesh in like 10 seconds. after a while it starts showing you your own patterns like which terps actually chill you out vs knock you out, what you’re spending, what’s worth a rebuy.
free, no ads, private (nobody sees your log, there’s no feed or any of that). took months to get through app review lol but it’s on iOS now, also works in the browser: https://terptracer.com/
I built it so yeah, biased , but if you’ve ever kept a strain journal I’d love to know what you’d want it to track.

Nice job, but I'd like at working on the UI (it's very clearly AI generated at the moment.
I've actually been working on a similar tracker app for a few months, though it looks like we've both gone in slightly different directions with it.

Just downloaded and am excited to try.
First thoughts:
Easy sign up.
Scanning doesn’t work well with PA medical labels since COAs are not publicly available. I like that I can manually edit the numbers. I’ll mess with it some more and follow up.

Yeah I’m based in NM so people scanning COA’s from other states (even if they fail at first) will at least show me what to look for and add to the code base so the data can be parsed easier next time.

Something to consider is HiPAA compliance since people will be scanning medical labels which may have names or other PII.
I work in the industry, and am always looking for good journaling apps to recommend for our patients.

I was going to implement a receipt scanner before I had that thought. Thanks for the heads up , typically the script will ignore any data that isnt specifically a tag for terps cannabinoids and brand info. But I guess there could be a scenario where producer name and patient name could end up in the same path category.
