First Time For Everything
7 months pregnant and had a craving…apparently my driver did too. 😭 they took the pic for delivery and as I opened the door, they were leaving and no food was on the porch hahah.
I did not let them bring it back and DD offered a $5 credit.. lol

It's because customers sometimes make false reports of stolen food, just to get free food. It's DD's way of protecting drivers from false reports.

"Doordash offered $5" Nope. That's the automated system the offered $5. You have to nag it to transfer you with an actual agent. They'll give you a full refund.

try re-reporting it a different way if you only got 5 bucks, say it never arrived and then in the note tell them it was stolen after the picture was taken

Please use a different channel to report them and get your refund, you have camera evidence + a personal confession. They aren't just stealing but collecting payment while getting free dinner

Unbelievable to me they offered 5 dollars back when one of their dashers just straight up stole your order. Where’d the rest of the money go? DD must really suck, I’ve had other apps fully refund me if I so much as miss a topping, I don’t even ask them to do that

I get it. Whenever there's been something missing, it's usually after a long wait anyway, and the one item that we/I really really wanted, like the whole reason we chose that restaurant. 😔 So I'm supposed to argue with the chat AI and be hungry and nothing else is coming right now...yay!
It's almost always the restaurant's fault here, over years of getting food delivered a few times a month. At least as far as I can tell-they usually staple store receipts to the bag. I've never had the whole order just not show up. On the grocery side though, I have had a few times where meat has been missing. I tip a lot! you could have bought one for yourself, and it's not like I wasn't going to notice or report it...now you don't get the tip, stupid.

I've never had doordash mess around with refunds. They usually refund me instantly if just one little thing is wrong. Perhaps it depends if you're a doordash+ subscriber or not or a regular? I don't know, I just know any time I request a refund for anything I get it almost instantly, and this person should totally push for one.

If I had it on video I'd call the police, that's stealing. One time someone from my building stole my KFC and I did call the police, it was $100 order. The non emergency line said i could charge my neighbor. But I got refunded and after I ate something I felt less psycho and never went through with it. The audacity of these thieves though.

Just had a similar experience myself. Driver put food in front of my door for a photo but didn't mark it complete till they were leaving the subdivision.
Posted about it but the community here took the thiefs side for the most part☠️ 106$ order stolen, but in my case doordash wouldn't refund it because the dasher already took the Pic of it being there.

I'm such a sucker. I actually kinda feel bad for them. Still gonna report you, but you'll make me feel bad for doing it. My stupid brain thinks "oh man, that's sad, they're hungry!" But then my other half says "nah fuck that, so am I! That's my money!". People that prey on your empathy suck.

Honestly you shouldn't settle for $5 back, I literally get more credit just from someone getting one thing in my order wrong. You could easily get a full refund for this, and you definitely should push for it.

Lol still one of my favorite videos I have of a DoorDasher delivering food… not only do they drop it outside my fence when it was for a Neighbour 4 doors down, he picked it back up and slid it into his bag before skulking away.
