Noticed this deer dead asleep in my yard at 9:00 this morning. I saw it lying under a tree and was afraid it had been hit by a car and had chosen to die there. I went outside and made clapping and whistling noises which didn’t wake it. I walked over to it and that’s when it woke up, but it didn’t move. It lay there and looked at me while I walked away. Totally unfazed by me being so close.

A little later, it got up and started eating grass and wildflowers. It looks super skinny to me, even for a deer possibly done nursing, but I’d like to be wrong. Its tail wasn't full either, pretty scraggly, but it was wagging while it was eating. I wonder what people’s best guesses are on what's going on with this deer based on just appearance alone. Makes me happy it's at least eating. Located: outside Boulder, CO

It’s funny - where he’s standing, it’s pitch black. I sensed he was there before I even saw him. Turned on the light …. there He was staring at us

I’m only seeing maybe, two larger bucks at the moment. The larger guys will make quick appearances, in a little time. Haven’t seen a doe, without a fawn….. in a minute
