Story Finally. After ten years it happened.
Ten years, 400+ hours, i dont know how many playthroughs.
For the first time tonight i beat the bed of chaos on the first try with no deaths.
I honestly did not think this was even going to happen. Its the reason ive never attempted a deathless run before. Its actually pretty common for me to go deathless for the entire game except the BoC.
My wife wont understand lol, so im sharing this monumental occasion with you all.
Praise the sun!

Can't recall a boss called the bed of chaos. Are you sure your not confusing It with the bed of bullshit?

dude that got removed in the dlc, the devs replaced it with the bed of <various slurs that i can’t say here>
•
u/stichen97 Mar 18 '26
I just realised, bed of chaos is the only boss I have never beaten without dying at least once.

No quit out or tohki bombs?
•
u/gunslinger_006 Mar 18 '26
No bombs but i absolutely did quit out between killing the two outer orbs.
•
u/veloxVolpes Mar 18 '26
Intended mechanics as far as I'm concerned
•
u/godverdejezushey Mar 18 '26
Agreed, make a stupid boss, I will fight it stupidly
•
u/DiscussionCold3026 Mar 19 '26
Hahaha 😂 nice nice legit lol at that 1 . Bed of chaos was even fought by the souls guide Fightincowboy in the same way . It def is a set in stone way to fight BoC.
•
u/TheGoatManJones Mar 18 '26
It has to be intentional, it’s the only boss that saves your progress and doesn’t reset when you quit out
•
u/Sea_Construction947 Mar 18 '26
Seriously. Every time on the walk back from either orb I instantly get thrown in a hole, I swear I will never do it deathless without quit outs.
•
u/bilcox Mar 18 '26
That's the one with the tree branches knocking you into death pits beneath a crumbling floor?
•
•
u/Urtoryu Mar 18 '26
I did that once. Was a deathless run until that point too...
Then Tomb of the Giants happened.
.
I. Hate. Tomb. Of. The. Giants.

Congrats on the achievement and not going hollow. I think you should go for the deathless run. I believe in you and you should believe in you too. But if you can’t, believe in the me that believes in you. 👍

Your character looks awesome.
•
u/gunslinger_006 Mar 31 '26
Thanks! Thats the gold hemmed set, great scythe, and grass crest shield.
•
u/Federal_Extreme_8079 Mar 18 '26
Congratulations for the effort! I cant beat it without dying at least 3 times. Did you try to beat it without dying or it happened by accident?!
•
u/Flamaijian Mar 18 '26
I’ve managed this a couple times in dozens of play throughs. Never intentionally though, I would just zone out and get lucky.
•
u/JadeCornPens Mar 18 '26
Forgive me for the noob question, but it's fine to homie bone out after each orb right?
•
u/gunslinger_006 Mar 18 '26
Don’t use a bone, just quit the game via the menu.
When you reload you will be at the fog gate.
•
u/JadeCornPens Mar 18 '26
I guess I'm just not a fan of quitting out. Is it okay if you quit out when you accidentally fall off a ledge in a deathless run, and then avoid falling? I'm thinking of doing a deathless run, is there any way to get the 100% accepted format without watching a bunch of content?

I was so confident my first time. Had watched a playthrough before. I got this. Still fucking died.
•

I totally didn't realize it was an accomplishment but on my very first playthrough I beat BOC first try
•
u/DanielOdrani Mar 18 '26
I began ds1 two weeks ago and I remember how I have beaten bed of chaos on my first try…
•
u/Cosmic-Sympathy Mar 18 '26
BoC is still a bit random, but it got easier for me when I realized you could quit out and then restart right outside the fog gate. So for me, it's three, one-way trips, each of them fairly easy if you know the path.

For anyone attempting deathless runs, it is worth it to learn the bomb method. Very easy and reliable once you get used to it.

There's always the fire bomb cheese standing in a certain spot and using bow aiming to line up fire bomb throws then just made dashing to the bug but it can still fire tempest you to death
•
u/YourDriverStubnorts Mar 18 '26
BoC ruined my deathless run, and I haven’t had the heart to try it again 😩
Anyway, awesome job!
