I'm graduating next year, with a background in AI, and applying for roles in the US. I recently had a recruiter screen for a post-training role and was rejected afterward.
I'm wondering how closely my background needs to match the team's specific area. For AI/ML recruiter screens, how do you explain the relevance of your experience when it's related but not an exact match? What do you try to clarify with the recruiter early on?
