Dylan Faden Cosplay that I made for my brother

So happy this came together just in time for DragonCon - Dylan and Jesse tackled the Altered World Event (DragonCon) with the help of Objects of Power (Rum Buckets). You guys may have seen me post here a little while ago about the poncho/raincoat- the rest of the outfit was just a pair of men’s work coveralls with some brown pleather armor sewn on. The Aberrant was modeled by me in Blender and 3D printed (the model is available for free on MakerWorld). I also made his mobile containment device (the thing on the back of his head) but it was too heavy to reliably attach to the wig, especially since we were wandering around DragonCon. I also want to workshop the wig more- but it was a true con crunch as we live in different states so I had to style it the night-of! We’ll probably be posting more content on our instagrams (LittleLuckyCosplay and BigBrotherCosplay) if anyone wants to see more in the future (I don’t want to clog up this sub)!

So I was checking out that citizen safety guide and the line “the event is under control” just made me laugh.

Sure it’s under control just ignore the mold people, glowing red creatures and whatever the fuck the resonants are.

Discussion Would anyone be surprised if they revealed this in the game?

Upvotes

So I admittedly had a weird thought after watching one of the trailers. When they revealed in one of the trailers that Emily was co-director of the FBC, I thought to myself I wouldn’t be surprised if they revealed that her and Jesse became a thing.

Look, I’m well aware of the fact that I am reaching and can be completely off base. But obviously a lot has happened in the bureau since the first game and obviously weirder shit has happened.

Question Does anybody have the textdump for this ASCII art FBC logo? I wanted to do somethings with it, but the online converter I found failed me

I hope I don't have to do it by hand...

Superb.

BTW wouldn't it mean that it will get at least two times worse in mid-game than it was at the start?

Discussion Chesters true identity? Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

So, I dont know who saw my post earlier about Chester Bless, but ive been going a bit too deep and im either so far off im crazy or could potentially be onto something I havent seen discussed. I'll start from the beginning.

With the current ARG ongoing and ‘Chess trebles’ causing all kinds of mystery. Out of interest I thought id look into the origin of the name Chester. There i learned that Chester is a shorter version of the old english name Rochester.

I then found out the the meaning of Rochester is ‘fort of the rook’ it usually means rook as in a crow. But with the name Chess Trebles, it was hard to think it was a coincidence. That made me think of the FBC seal, with the tower standing tall, its literally a castle, like a rook in chess.

It wasnt long after that, i noticed the fbc safety website was live.

https://fbc.controlgame.com/

when you open the website your greeted with what should be the fbc seal, but the one we see is different with Chesters cross on It

(I'll post a screenshot) the only other logos we see like that are further in the site on the same style screens, all the other logos are the usual fbc seal, with the tower in the middle.

Ive seen other people guess at what the new one is, and seen a pyramid traced out but personally with the cross on the front, I just saw a coat of arms, that made me think Knights used to carry them. So is the new logo saying the knight has took the rook?

Then I carried on looking into names, when I looked up blessed, I found an old coat blessed family coat of arms. Now im not saying these are identical. But you cant deny there are common features.

That made me question if Chester is actually an as ancient as the blessed clan, or maybe even timeless?(serene?) so I looked into when the first records of the blessed organisation, which was in 1968 when the blessed po box opened. Which is the same year the fbc found the oldest house.

So could Chester have been on the original board?

Before it was they were fbc, was it the blessed organisation.

Did the other members decide to go against his ancient clan to pursue their own plans as a modern government organisation?

From that time up until 1994, blessed organisation was creating chaos creating altered items, as a board member, he can.

I mean he was taking his surfboard on a tour called the power of the board? Maybe it was the surfboards power he was talking about.

At that point the rest of the board managed to capture and contain him in the astral prison he was in. After that no blessed organisation appears.

Then the events of control happen and in the end of foundation we see the former has escaped the astral prison, 2 years after he is freed, Barry Wheeler is at a blessed wellness retreat, Chester tells Barry not to go to new york.

I cant shake a feeling like Chester and the former are the same thing.

We dont find out when the former was kicked out the board, he could very well be the founding member.

Ive definitely forgot to mention some stuff here 😂

Go easy on me, im sure there is a reason nobody talks about this.

Gameplay First time playing, the ashtray maze is blowing my mind

First time playing, the ashtray maze might be one of my favorite levels in all of gaming. It's paced so well with the rock music, the platforming, the groups of enemies, and the shapeshifting walls all mixed together in like an epic finale feeling moment. Gives me similar vibes to the last level of Halo 3.

Just finished Ch7. (No spoilers).

Upvotes

I'm back after a bit of a break. I finally swallowed my pride and started looking up navigation tutorials. Now I'm enjoying the game a ton more and I've realized I'm not the only one who's struggled with that, which makes me feel better. I have a couple questions.

I am clueless about this game's story. That's not usually like me, but the gameplay is so good yet the story's so ominous. Now I've realized I'm seriously missing out. At this point in the game should I sit my ass down and ingest the story brick by brick as best I can? Or should I finish the game and do another run through respecting the story? Because I'm lost AF and I'll probably do another run anyway.

Also, is there an end to the game at the story's conclusion that locks you out of your playthrough? Because there's a healthy amount of these side quests and challenges now, and they're designed as so they never actually end. Also, in one of my tutorials it described chapter 7 as a "late game quest" yet I'm looking at my abilities like... if this is late game I'm gimp as hell.

If there's enough grind to this game to keep the content flowing after the story's over and not want another run, I'll just park my ass down and take some time to ingest the story.

I ran a custom TTRPG where my players were FBC field agents investigating a possible AWE

Post image

It was fun, they found a series of redacted documents I made along side these micro cassettes I recorded. They were themed as an FBC researcher who'd annoyed senior staff and been put in the middle of nowhere at a crappy research station. They found them out of order so it was fun to watch them try to figure out what had happened in the town and try to solve the mystery.

I used a rudimentary stat system that let them customise and have different background (one was clean up crew so they were more resilient to weird stuff another was security so they were better at investing and using their weapon etc) and just did D20 rolls along side minor stat bumps.

They really enjoyed it and with Resonant coming out soon I've got the itch to make something again

Late to the party, but this game is Top 3 for me

Upvotes

If not, then very close. I wanted to save this for after I finished the game, but I just finished a punchcard puzzle and realize I have a lot to say already. First, I maybe played through half of Max Payne 1, and I don't remember it but I'm pretty sure I played 3 as a teen. I'm almost 30 so my range of favorites are PS2 classics, like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, FF, GTA, I've gone down the list. It's usually hard to pin down a Top 3 games, but I can say my list is most likely as follows: 1. Psychonauts 2. Psi Ops: the Mindgate Conspiracy 3. Red Dead 2. You can obviously see why I'm so interested in Control. An understanding of ultradimensional physics and philosophy, a comfort with the strange and horrific, a familiarity with psychokinetic abilities, growing up in an age raving about cryptids and "SCP's". Even being a subject to GATE/Gifted program. I remember seeing the trailer for this game when it came out, but I didn't have the hardware and did have a grudge against redheads of either gender. I finally have the hardware, albeit second hand and filthy, and bought the game maybe yesterday? I haven't slept. I want to say this game is very good, and when I say that, I mean I have the least conplaints to make about a game ever. The problems I have with this game, are the fact that I compare the psychokinetic abilities to those in Psi Ops, which allows you more individual control over objects with TK or people with MC. That's it? I love the gameplay. I understand the story so far perfectly fine. I dig Jesse's attitude, her main goal and how it seems to correlate to the place she is in. The visuals are incredible and the audio feels almost like a rhythm game, at least the combat effects. The scores are also incredible. I feel the space is tight and confined but also massive and maze like, what you'd expect from such an agency. Reading the memos really lets you get the perspective of those working there in a way that RE games just don't. The UI is very clean, and the upgrading system is kinda perfect for me. I'm hoping my opinion either remains the same, or is heightened by finishing it, which I've stopped other games to do. Rare for me to be stuck on one. Top Notch so far. I want to thank the developers and outright apologize for buying this game 7 years late and on sale. I should have experienced this sooner but after all ive been through lately, i really needed this game.

Discussion A thought about The Former.

Upvotes

So, i've been quite surprised about one thing. The only theory I've ever heard about The Former is that it is a former member of the board. However I think that there's potential that the name has double meaning, 'former' as in previous and, 'former' as in someone who forms. Potential evidence for the latter is how it os able to alter the properties of alteted items.

If this is an existing theory/idea or something easily debunked, i apologise, but thought it was an interesting idea.
