Annoucement Clarification About NSFW Content Creator Accounts in r/clay
Hello!
This announcement won’t be relevant for most of you, so feel free to scroll along.
However, we’re seeing an uptick in NSFW accounts posting here, so this message is for the few it applies to.
If you are an NSFW content creator or SW promoting on Reddit, please read the following:
r/clay is a SFW subreddit.
Our community includes members aged 13 and up, and we want everyone to feel comfortable browsing profiles to see more pottery without unexpectedly encountering nudity.
While we respect the hustle, we kindly but firmly ask that you create a separate account for SFW content. Any pottery-related posts coming from an NSFW content creator profile will be automatically filtered and removed.
If you want to participate, just use a separate SFW account! You are absolutely welcome here.
Keep in mind that even with good intentions, posting here from an NSFW account often comes across as karma farming or subtly seeking new clients/buyers. Something that is generally frowned upon across Reddit.
Thank you for keeping our community welcoming and safe for all ages.
---
To clarify a bit more: having a NSFW profile is completely fine. You can get labeled as NSFW the moment you participate in certain subreddits. Here is how you can check if your profile is marked NSFW.
However, we draw a clear line when accounts create or promote explicit NSFW/pornographic content. That’s when we ask you to keep your SFW and NSFW activity separate.
If you have questions, feel free to modmail us.

Ceramic Clay Got my ceramic pieces back!
I took some wheel throwing classes recently and got my glazed pieces back this weekend! I'm so happy with them! I just gotta figure out what to do with all of these bowls now! (Plus, I really want to take more classes).

Polymer-Clay What do y'all think of Tequila Gundam?
As a Southwesters US desert rat myself I feel like Tequila Gundam does a great job of summarizing the southwestern spirit, but alas I cannot speak for the Latin culture on this one obv. I did however have a lot of fun making this one. Many different layers went into it, I had to build the body and then sand each part for max smoothness. Will also be adding some battle damage after we get back from lunch. I hope you enjoy these photos of my latest creation!
Last is a bonus pic of my diy sculptures so far on their shelf.

Air-Dry Clay I Made a Little Flower Vase + Photo Frame Out of Clay 🌸
I wanted something to brighten up my desk, but I also wanted a little vase for flowers and somewhere to put a photo. So I figured, why not combine the two?
I made this little two-in-one piece with air dry clay. It was fun figuring out how to make both parts work together, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
What do you guys think? 😊

Polymer-Clay Venom eating chocolate cake
The only paint I used was on the chest and back, the rest is polymer clay (colored clay). It's not perfect, but the 5 year old birthday boy loved it

Foam Air-Dry Clay Help me with my first sculpture (made this a few hours ago)
I know my Pompompurin doesn't look chubby enough.
I need to know what other steps I need to take to harden the clay faster and also on what kind of varnish I should add to it.
The clay has become spongy and pillowy as of now and therefore can't be further moulded.

Inspiration Replicating Kawaii figurines
I had free time to make clay figures, but since I couldn't think of what to create, I based my design on the last image I found on Pinterest and tried to replicate them.
So I set about recreating the duckling, the carrot, the axolotl, the octopus, and the bee (Although I couldn't make the dinosaur due to lack of time).
Therefore, I would have finished my replica figurines according to the image.
From 1 to 10, how much did I get? 🧡

Air-Dry Clay my clay keeps cracking after it has dried
i’m just starting to get into clay art and am using DAS air dry clay. i try and smooth out any cracks with water while it’s still malleable but when it dries, there are cracks everywhere. definitely not as smooth as people’s artworks i see online, is that just because of my hand skills?😅 any tips for this?
