Carleton Place advances plans for proposed $25M aquatic and recreation centre

Carleton Place council has approved moving ahead with the next phase of procurement and public consultation for a proposed $25-million aquatic and recreation centre on the Muturra lands.

Staff told council the town's 45-year-old pool has entered an accelerated deterioration phase and could require a partial or full closure if a major failure occurs. Construction has not been approved, and residents will be invited to provide feedback before council decides whether to proceed with the project.

This pisses me off so much. Half the facility shouldn’t be pickleball. MAYBE 1 gym but not 3 courts. Make a yoga studio or exercise equipment. Seems like the pickleball crew are just making something for themselves on taxpayer money instead of something for the WHOLE community.
