The axe is the closest thing Bloodborne has to an “easy mode”.

So a lot of aspiring hunters are drawn to it, and the seasoned hunters who were carried by it cannot bear the burden of casting it out just yet...

Explain how the axe is easy mode? You all act like it stuns on r1 and r2 is instant with zero Stam cost lol. Axe is not op. Other weapons scale better, do aoe better, stun better, axe is fine

Imo it's the rally potential and transformed charged R2 (or just the transformed sweeping range in general), both great for new players. Scaling doesn't really matter, it's about getting through the early-mid game and learning how to play.

Yea i don’t agree. It’s slow so new players will probably be overwhelmed constantly and if you go fishing for charged r2 constantly you’re left with no stamina and once again overwhelmed. I think saw cleaver is the most noob friendly and all around easy mode weapon. Add fire paper or beast pellet and shredddd bosses

Hmm, I guess it depends on the player, I can see those being valid points. Many new players come from Dark Souls, so I don't think the speed matters for them, it's what they're used to. Ofc that isn't everybody, I didn't come from DS and even though I took the Axe, I probably used the Saw Spear a little more.

Certainly wasn't my experience, that moved carried my scrub ass.

Also new players and beast blood pellets do NOT go together.
