Bought myself an ’85 FXSB Low Rider because apparently I needed another old Harley to fuck with.

She runs hard, looks right, and has already started handing me a list of shit to fix. Leaking fork seals. Leaking petcock. A little oil seepage here and there. Plenty of evidence that somebody’s been in it before me.

Perfect.

I’m not building this thing for resale value, a trophy, or some dude on the internet to tell me what a “proper” Low Rider is supposed to look like. I’m going to fix what needs fixing, cut up what needs cutting up, leave the good shit alone, and make it into the bike I want to ride.

And yes, I put a heart-shaped mirror on it.

I purchased this bike back in 2014 with the idea to ride it for a season and then sell it. Mostly because my wife got sick and wasn't allowed to ride her own bike for a year.

Wife got better, bike stayed.

I crashed mentally and wasn't able to work so I've been slowly upgrading things and fixed about every oil seal and o-ring. This bike made me learn a whole lot about wrenching.

Shes done about 110k miles of which I did 30k. This thing handles way better than it looks. It's the smoothest engine and plushiest suspension I've ever rode. Even the Honda TRAC anti dive works flawlessly.

I've fitted a fat brace fork brace which made a big difference, it's got modern EBC floating rotors front and back. A set of MAC performance headers and turndownmufflers. Heated grips! Almost all bulbs are OSRAM LED now modern ignition coils..

I love this thing.

Every time I ride my bike, I forget how much I hate the electrical gremlins.

Missing the sounds of the symphonic orchestra that motor and exhaust created 😢 I let a buddy run her when he came back by the house and hammered down i had felt the percussion in my chest from inside the house. I now ride my 1980 FLT Interceptor. It's not fast but it's still enjoyable to ride. It is a great sounding bike as well with it's tuned dual exhaust with it's 7 foot drag pipes
